Afghanistan to back Pakistan if US or India attack: Karzai​

The statement by President Hamid Karzai, the Mayor of Kabul was brilliantly analyzed by the Mr. Aziz of the Pakistani Talk and Comedy Show called “Hisb e Hal”. Ha! Ha! Ha! The program began with Mr. Aziz, the comic laughing uncontrollably. When asked why he was laughing–he responded that he was laughing at the statement of Mr. Hamid Karzai. Mr. Aziz said it was very funny that the man who cannot go the bathroom without asking the US is making these tall statements.

Karzai, in an interview with Geo TV said that his country will stand by “brother Pakistan” if it was attacked either by the US or India, Xinhua reported. “God forbid, if anytime war erupts between Pakistan and the United States, we will stand by Pakistan.”
“If Pakistan is attacked and if the people of Pakistan need Afghanistan‘s help, Afghanistan would be there with you”
“We are your brother as Pakistan has given us shelter (during the 1979-89 occupation of Afghanistan by former Soviet Union), as Pakistan considered us brother and gave homes and we spent time in Pakistan with respect as refugees,” he said.
Asked what Afghanistan would do if India attacked Pakistan, Karzai said: “Anybody that attacks Pakistan, Afghanistan will stand with Pakistan. Afghanistan will be a brother of Pakistan. Afghanistan will never betray a brother.”

He did however complain that the Pakistani establishment has “done a lot (of harm) to Afghanistan” but he said “Afghanistan is still a brother”.

Karzai’s attempt to explain away the Afghanistan-Bharat Strategic Partnership agreement by saying “Now, our relations with India, our signing of the strategic partnership with India, it did not happen at the spur of the moment. This is something that we have been working on for years now,” the Afghan president said.

Mr. Karzai also said that the tensions between the US and Pakistan had not had an impact on Kabul’s attitude towards Islamabad. “You know that we have had this engagement with Pakistan for a long time and if it comes to a brother-to-brother relationship, you’ll find that Afghanistan will be there with you in times of difficulty,” he said.

Karzai tried to face by saying that his country’s policies towards Pakistan would not be dictated by any country. “Afghanistan has its own policy, its own stand, its own clear view of things and from that point of view, it’s dealing with our brothers in Pakistan.”

It is not known whether Mr. Karzai’s statements came in after the airing of the vidoe of Mr. Qaddafi. Perhaps Mr. Karzai is tyrig to save his life!

He's not our aim, genius. He's just an expendable. Our aim is to stand strong with Afghanistan as a country. Whether he lasts or not or someone else of a stronger mindset but friendly to us comes, that is not our concern. If someone friendly to our country and with a stronger mind is ready to take over, we would personally welcome it.

Let's say for kicks that this is true. How would it be?

- Say US attacks Pakistan. What would the ANA do? ANA itself is armed with US money, US training and US doctrine. Its entire equipment is NATO funded and backed. Would it attack the US? Why? After how US helped them get rid of Talibunnies? Why would they go against the entity that gave them such a freedom? Use logic.

- Say we decide to conduct a strike. What and why would Afghanistan do to intervene? Our military is training Afghans. Their finest soldiers are training in our academies. Why would they lose that friendship for you, who's destroyed their nation in the last 30 years? How will they transport their troops across Pakistan without violating your borders?

Sometimes, one must learn to distinguish between "FEEL GOOD" statements and reality.
