Identifying 50 Issues with J-10A for PAF

Now I think no one, except PAF, can answer all 50 issues he is referring to regarding PAF evaluating J-10A back in 2006-2008 but if we can have a serious debate can we unearth few of them here to understand better what PAF actually wanted from this plane and why it got rejected. Also, Is J-10C/CE has overcome those issues.

If Pakistan still can get or buy F-16 from USA, J-10 wouldn't be chosen by PAF, no matter there are issues or not.

It's an unnecessary discussion because its from the past! We are in present and looking to the future. Present is JF-17 Block-III. The future is Project AZM. So let's not get sidetracked and spend unnecessary time on things not concerning the air force.

At One time, in not distinct past, declared officially that they are going to acquire FC-20 (J-10A) and now someone with credibility has revealed that there were some issues with that plane and history proved it correct as PAF didn't went for it while in the same time, our enemy kept acquiring MKIs and upgraded Mirages 2000, to me it does concern PAF. But that thing is apart, I want to have this discussion on more academic level to gauge the mindset of PAF with respect to acquiring new platform. We must not forget, EF-2000 and Rafale were also tested by PAF aroudn the same time period and J-10 happens to be only feasible jet with design similarities (despite being single engine against Twin engine EF-2000 and Rafale) but then PAF informed Chinese about it shortcomings... then we saw two iterations of J-10 (B and C model). To me everything is connected. I still believe that J-10CE can be best stopgap fighter along with Block-IIIs, till the arrival of Azm which is 15-20 years away from operational life ( that too if everything comes out as planned).

If all this is not concerned to PAF, I don't know what will ....

F16 or J10C ... both are stop gap solutions. PAF's future is exclusively JF17 (its advanced blocks, III & IV) and Project Azm.

And since F16 is already with PAF since 80's and they have all the infrastructure and manpower to maintain and fly it, so it will be given preference for these practical reasons. It won't make much sense to invest in a parallel infra and inventory for a stop gap solution.

But China has improved J10C a lot thanks to the inputs from JF17 project and PAF's sharing of their experience and hence it is a symbiotic relationship.

Shahid latif is immature person .He told that Jf-17 shot down Indian jets but later we found out that F-16 too the shorts .

Dear It is not about AVM, It is about Alan Warnes and PAF's approach to counter the latest nemesis of PAF which is about to arrive in our east in coming weeks.

That would be just logical because PAF has massive human resource pool that know this plane inside-out and we have emplaced all the required infrastructure for these jets. But I don't see PAF getting any more F-16s. Apart from Political constraints, financially new Falcons (Block-70s) is very expansive and PAF is committed in Block-III and Azm. So, it is only natural to find the real cause behind PAF's decision to not to pick FC-20 after announcing its acquisition in 2006.

Maybe someone could ask Abid Andleeb to check with Shaid Latif.

Clearly he doesn't have anyone else to interview...

It's probably just a language issue.
The PAF has infinitely more real-time experience in aerial warfare than PLAAF. The suggestions would have been, solicited, welcomed, valued and used to improve the J10 into a better fighting machine than it might have been without the PAFs input.

It will be reinforcer if it ever entered service. But its need is not so impending . even if it is ordered now block 3 seems like it will enter service first. As for lengthy discussions of xyz platform or aircraft being evaluated! well that is part of the process of having an air force! It doesn't stop in searching for the next thing in the evolution of air wing.

We have so much discussion as it is ion so many threads as it is!

Fair enough. Can we deduce from those so many threats the actual reason or let me put it this way, actual strategy PAF adopted which led to dropping J-10 back then and moving forward with JFT? And if F-16s don't come by in near future, what other option PAF will have for stopgap fighter before Azm than J-10 keeping in mind the answer of previous question?

Probably, if we try to peep in future, American F16 are not available & more over they are not feasible any more, in developing scenarios all around Pakistan. We shouldn't daydream.
If J30 is catchable & practical in a couple of years, that's the best option.
if J30, project AZAM is further away then customised J10C is the only viable feasible option we have.

despite us picking holes in PAF strategy, we have to admit they know what they are doing. An example is we all used to bash them on Mirage 3/5 and their holding onto it. But now we are all in a better understanding on what that plane is capable of despite the age. So I have trust in PAF's decision making.
