I think our expectations are shaped wrongly due to recent developments in COIN and Syria (Firat Kalkani Harekati). Initially I thought the Alpagu was the evolution of the XQ-FI 06 but apparently it's a different project.
For what did we want/need S-UAV? Based on our previous combat history, namely for units in rural area's who get in contact with the enemy and are often hit with ieds/dhsk's and are pinned down. With S-UAV they can launch, detect & suppress an enemy without need for CAS. So in that sense I think it's enough, especially since it's launched from a mortar-like tube. One that can be easily carried like an rpg launcher, or put in a vehicle for convoy security.
Look at MAM-L, such a miniature design was considered too 'big' and they also opted for the MAM-C because it's lighter/cheaper. What you describe (want?) is less S-UAV and more SPIKE-ER/NLOS weaponry to take down armored vehicles and tanks (in our case this would be SVBIEDS). This is what Azerbaycan used during their recent clashes with Armenia. I think APC-launched Cirit/Mizrak should offer solutions like that. Or by combining Sarp RCWS with ATGM which will prolly be unveiled during the next few days.
These S-UAVs are multi-use and would be perfect for ALL troops in Turkey regardless of class/role all the way down to regular infantry. Remember that video where C-IED (METI guys) are being pinned down by sniper fire, now imagine simply launching one of these to quickly track and take down the enemy sniper? Perfect.
