IDEF-2019 l Updates, News & Discussion

So we are looking at liquid rocket engine ?

No brother, I don't believe that we already tested a liquid propellant missile. Maybe we will it be soon with UFA Sat launcher. I wanted only answer your question. It is possible to reach range of 1000 km with one stage.
I could have also mentioned "Ghadr-101 single stage solid propellant missile with a 750-800-1,000 kilometer range".
But I don't know the dimensions of the Iranian mssile.

The photoes taken during IDEF will be shared in this thread. It will be a good collection of fair photo archieve, while discussions based on photo, system specifications along with benefits for Turkish and ally states will be done in a separate thread.

When there are discussions based on photo, system specifications thread. Members must put the link - number post (discussions based on photo) - in their message. It will be easier to follow and understand what he is talking about.

Example :

Two stage would allow for tactical size shorter ballistic missile. I don't think Army would like large ballistic missile.

I understand what you mean , if one bis stage missile is ignited you can't stop it burning only selfdestruction mode is possible.

Having many similarities !

I watched both videos of the STM drones and I think that the payload is simply to low, I mean that pickup in the video is intact, sure personnel might be injured but I kinda expected more.

I think our expectations are shaped wrongly due to recent developments in COIN and Syria (Firat Kalkani Harekati). Initially I thought the Alpagu was the evolution of the XQ-FI 06 but apparently it's a different project.

For what did we want/need S-UAV? Based on our previous combat history, namely for units in rural area's who get in contact with the enemy and are often hit with ieds/dhsk's and are pinned down. With S-UAV they can launch, detect & suppress an enemy without need for CAS. So in that sense I think it's enough, especially since it's launched from a mortar-like tube. One that can be easily carried like an rpg launcher, or put in a vehicle for convoy security.

Look at MAM-L, such a miniature design was considered too 'big' and they also opted for the MAM-C because it's lighter/cheaper. What you describe (want?) is less S-UAV and more SPIKE-ER/NLOS weaponry to take down armored vehicles and tanks (in our case this would be SVBIEDS). This is what Azerbaycan used during their recent clashes with Armenia. I think APC-launched Cirit/Mizrak should offer solutions like that. Or by combining Sarp RCWS with ATGM which will prolly be unveiled during the next few days.

These S-UAVs are multi-use and would be perfect for ALL troops in Turkey regardless of class/role all the way down to regular infantry. Remember that video where C-IED (METI guys) are being pinned down by sniper fire, now imagine simply launching one of these to quickly track and take down the enemy sniper? Perfect.

you need interaction with weapon location sensors, snipers are hidden, if they are hidden in buildings we can use bigger UAV's with Cirit and Umtas , if they are on the field we can rain S-UAV's on them.
Special training of Army units is a must be.

If it is 9m it is DF family. But is it 9m long ? Iam not sure, ours is I guess a bit shorter.

the origin of the word "Kaan/Han".

Kayra or Kaira, (Altai: Кайракан "Kayrakan", Kyrgyz: Кайра, Turkish: Kayra Han, Azerbaijan: Kayra Xan, Ottoman: كايرا) is the Spirit of God and creator god in Turkic mythology. Supreme god of the Tatars. Son of the sky deity (Gök Tengri). This son, Kara Han (the black king), left his father's home in the heaven and went to live in the underworld. On occasion, identified as Kara-Khan (black king) he was primordial god and his father was ancordial god called Tengri.

The name of this deity is found in several forms, as is that of his opponent. "Kayra-Khan" may be translated as "merciful king", while the form "Kara Han" signifies "black king". For this reason, authority on Turkic Mythology Deniz Karakurt, considers Kara-Han and Kayra-Han to be two different deities. Furthermore, the Turkic word kara can mean both black and land, with the result that Kara Han can mean not only 'Black (Dark) Ruler' but also 'Ruler of the Land'.

Anyways back on topic. Great weapons :)

I don't have any idea about width but If my calculations true (From both image measuring based on their back fins' length (I strongly underline that This method open to miscalculation) and keep frame aspect differences out of calculations), Turkish one is bigger than DF-15B, around 12,2m vs 9,1m.

If back fins have a 0,2m length differences in real ( Considering that DF-15B have a 0,2m longer fin than Turkish one), It means Their total lengths will be around 9m. If equal, Turkish one will be around 11-12m...

I was thinking more about what the Azeris used and what we have to, I believe its called Harpy.
