I would like to come back to Pakistan, in sha Allah, after a few years after gaining more experience and establishing myself, and work in the medical field/ teach in a medical college.

I have many connections in Pakistan, many of my uncles/family friends are graduates of King Edwards.

Most of us can contribute in educating the nation. Start teaching the poor people in their own languages. Discuss & learn about science & useful skills instead of wasting time on political discussions which often end up in trolling. Learn about the most beautiful religion and practice it. Small acts of compassion, minor good deeds like removing a stone from the pathway helps. Clean your environment, reduce the use of plastic bags, use less water every time you use it

i think anyone farigh should be drafted/selected and educated in developing skill to become as a cogs in machine like China did in Manufacturing just about everything.

My small idea is that pakistani education should concentrate more on engineering, science and technology and less on marasiyat/literature/ghazals/poetry etc.

what about our elites who are sharabi kahbabi then, i think ever roll is impotent just like before Imam Gazali we where forefront in promoting engineering,astronomy and literature.

If you were given a free hand, What can you do for Pakistan AND DESCRIBE HOW?!

Make sure it coincides with your profession / experience!

Not related to my profession..

If I am given a free hand, I will make a 15-20 year plan and declare education emergency..

1 - Drastic changes in School Syllabus to bring that on par with Singaporean syllabus, or maybe better.. one syllabus across all public private schools, no O Level A Level or foreign board examinations allowed... Introduction of moral education subjects from grade 3. Compulsory education till grade 10 plus compulsory technical education (2 year technical diploma) if someone decides to leave college after grade 10.. Evening technical colleges so that people can earn while getting their technical diplomas/ certificates..

2 - B. Ed program will be equivalent to western countries.. license examinations for teachers... the teachers will have the highest status in the society.. they will get preferential treatment everywhere.. from Public Transport to Grocery Stores.. People will dream of becoming a teacher, a lecturer or a professor..

3 - Compulsory community services required from students from grade 6 onwards (one hour of school time).. these include cleaning the streets, parking management, traffic management (higher grades only), Plantation in the city suburbs on weekends under school management

4 - Tripling the budget allotment for research universities..

5 - Pakistani public university qualified medical doctors will not be allowed to get a passport without reimbursing the subsidy given to them for their medical education or completion of the mandatory 5 year service in rural areas.. Husbands of the lady doctors (who got subsidized medical education but later decided to sit at home) will be taxed 10% more than the usual tax in their income brackets..

6 - Government run software houses to provide internships/ jobs to IT software graduates who are unable to secure employment.. These software houses to develop alternate software for operating systems, databases, ERPs etc.. also projects such as android software/ games. One interesting game may give us 100s of millions of dollars in monthly revenue... Development of a good ERP will save millions of dollars of licensing cost thus helping us in reducing dollar outflow.. This could be achieved in the next 10 -15 years...

7 - Introduction of special courses on Data Science, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and Predictive Analysis in Universities..

8 - expanding the current canal system, specially to provide enough space during floods.. plantation of certain fruit trees that are beneficial for our economy, such as olive palm in the relevant environment..

9 - Ending Quota System...

10 - Land Reforms..

It has to be something with education I suppose, perhaps at the junior college level, to help kids choose a career and to get started on it, along the lines of a counseling office.

Finland has really awesome salary for teachers...no preferential treatment but license and training is really good for pri to secondary school teachers....

This is what we require.. Current B/Ed program of Pakistan produces crap teachers and they in turn produce crap students..

That program is a loot mar! I know few who came out of that program and know nothing! Like they arent even given teacher training or any practical experience in a real class setting! and sent to ruin the future generation!

There are some unis that have started this...I am not sure of the quality but some of the prof running the courses are educated from USA....SO I am oping next generation would be know something good?

THIS pisses me off more than anything! I seriously have said stuff to some of these women - not directly...I was pretending to say it generally how some women think medical is a like a lottery ticket to get married...SOMETHING along those lines
