Idea: Middle East Union!

One thing is for sure: a MEU will never work if every single ME nation becomes a member state from the very beginning. If you ask me, such an union would only work if two or three states lead the way. The other nations could join later. Neither Iran nor any GCC state or Egypt should become a member state at this early stage.

Tunisia & Turkey (and maybe Lebanon) could be the founding states of a possible MEU.

Personally, I am against any kind of union with Arabs.

Hey, I am the first person to support the unification of Arabistan. I am not anti-Arab. Everybody would benefit from a strong, stable and powerful Arab state stretching form the Atlantic to Indian Ocean. Especially we Turks would gain so much.

But then again, we all know it won't happen.

Well, if you are genuine in your feelings and thoughts, the good news about this union is that it already exist in reality.. the problem we still have to make it complete is the situations in Iraq, Syria and Yemen and of course Qatar.. but, the Union without them already exists, and since they are part of the Arab world, they will join this Union as soon as they CAN..
Obviously Turkey has a lot to gain from this, it has a good reputation in the Arab World and was considered a dear and close brother (Well, at least until this recent crisis with Qatar!).. Turkey has important projects going on in the commercial, industrial and military fields across the Arab world in forms of JVs and projects.. Hopefully this little crisis won't affect that.. for the sake of the brotherly relations established on centuries of closeness..

Hi,

I was watching a documentary on the past of Europe before the EU, and it reminded me of the current Middle East. Blood, wars, no sigh of peace and prosperity.

Then I thought.. Why not create a Middle East Union?!

Europe before was just as much divided in to influence goups that seeked their own interests. Then they decided that if they create a union to unite these areas of influence, the big powers would share their influence zones with each other and because all big powers would have all the zones together, that would eliminate regional competition on hostility!

Today in the ME there 3 factions with 3 regional powers;
Turkish faction:
-Northern Cyprus
-Azerbaijan
-Qatar
Iranian faction:
-Iraq
-Syria
-Lebanon
Saudi faction:
-Jordan
-Yemen
-Bahrain
-UAE

Due to economic reasons, it is immensely hard for Saudi Arabia and her faction to join any other faction. They first need to industrialize their economies.

But Iran and Turkey already have somewhat industrialized economies and both have 3 countries in their areas of influence.

A unity between Turkey, Iran, Qatar, Iraq, Syria, Northern Cyprus, Lebanon and Azerbaijan is more than possible!

This possible economic-military union would bring peace and prosperity in the region as sect conflicts between nations would come to a halt due to increased economic and political dependencies of countries on each other due to elimination of tariffs, visa requirements etc.

Then these countries can look for their interests i the world together!


What do you guys think? Shoot away!

My own prediction is that 200 years from now Middle Easterns will stop killing each other cause they've ran out off missiles and bullets and there's no one to build new weapons for them cause the rest of the planet already left the earth.

It wouldn't happen unless countries in the region realized that path to security and peace is an internal one if you rely on external powers for such a matter they would just play you to the last minutes to get to their interests ....most of wars, conflict in the region have been ignited by outsiders ...
