Violence is not a belief. Every human has in his/her nature the ability to be violent. Some control it better than others...whether due to our religious beliefs(in order to live up to a moral code) or due to the laws and the consequences. If however push comes to shove even the most peaceful person on Earth can retaliate with violence.

Yes but we must accept we cannot have full solutions since we are not full solutions ourselves. Its a process in the end complete with forward and backward moments.

As an individual, its imperative to set good example yourself...and do your best regarding the system outside yourself....but we are ultimately imperfect and forever (while we are living at least) will always be so. Entropy simply dictates the rest....each passing second is one more second from the singularity of the ultimate origin.

I still think there should be constant efforts made at every level...ranging from individual level to familial, tribal, societal, etc. Chalking it up to human nature and saying that nothing can be done about it...is sort of like resigning our free will and equating us to animals...

The whole concept of free will...moral values...and most of all the "social contract"...is to try and create a peaceful society...rather than might is right type of chaos run by greed and hunger for power.
