Someone told me that Chinooks will be the winner and a total of 50-60 Apaches will be bought and rest will be LCH and Rudra...waiting to see how reliable he is...

He would have predicted. Otherwise how would anyone know results of evolution before tender opens, unless he was/is part of that team or he is Shiv Aroor

I didn't see any follow on clause in Apache tender. So 22 is final for now. And after the decision of "who's gona keep them (IA ACC/IAF - my bet IAF ) and holding party analysis and use these 22 next order will be placed if required. But if some experts are to be belived this will be only order of Appache as IAF is planning to filed mix herds of hellos under 1 apaches. Sounds cool and more practicle for our LCH

Chinook can be transported in the hold of the C-17 Globemaster III, of which India has ordered 10 examples. Boeing says this greatly enhances the CH-47F's ability to be deployed to distant locations.

They note that the CH-47F used in the India flight trials flew into India aboard a C-17 and was able to conduct a flight just hours after arriving.

Chinook should win this deal as it suits our needs better.

It shouldn't be but it is. May to avoid single vender situation.
I too like Chinook but I don't think it's the right tender for it. May some other tenders where I could be selected. I would be a great asset for our SFs

Will see what happens then. But like you said the Chinook can do many things besides just lifting heavy equipment.

I am not denying that. But tender process is followed to the points of requirement. Let's wait and watch.
