I thought our Su 30MKIs use Kh 59M 285 km range stand off missiles.

300km is enough for current battle scenario. We need to go with indigenous longer range versions of cruise missiles like nirbhay but air versions will weigh more.
If EFT selected germany will not feel much pain to sell such missiles, and more over saab is still offering Gripen NG apart from MRCA deal.

Don't bet an that! Selling a fighter is one thing, selling such a weapon is a different thing, especially in Germany. I think they will try to sell us HOSBO:

Interestingly, the manufacturer Diehl BGT started a JV with the Israeli Rafael for this weapon on the Paris Air Show.

Stand-off missile means exactly what you said.....



Two lines are contradictory to each other. May be IAF sent RFI for LRAAM(Long Range Air-to-Air Missile) and LRSSM(Long-Range Standoff Strike Missile) as well.

yes,the MKI uses the Kh-59MK cruise missile with 285Km range.
It also uses other stand-off weapons like the Kh-35U with 130Km range,the Kh-31P supersonic Anti Radiation missile with 110Km range and the Kh-59ME with around 120Km range.

In the MMRCA deal we would already be getting stand-off weapons.
