I have not heard of this deal before.
I wonder how much dependable this report is

The just released World Radars Market Report reports the following deals relating to India:

IAF Receives Rohini, a 3-D Acquisition Radar, from BEL II-47
India Plans to Install 45 Doppler Radars II-48
India and Israel Ink Radar Co-development Agreement II-51
India to Purchase Next-Generation Maritime Surveillance and ATC Radars II-53

I have not seen the full report ($3,950). Some other deals reported on my blog are:

This is the key line in report

"for the Indian Air Force’s future combat aircraft acquisitions, with the principal contenders hailing from the US (Northrop Grumman and Raytheon)

I think the IAF is indicating it wants approx 450 Radars and is sounding out all the AESA market from

USA Europe Israel & Russia. PESA Bars

The planes that may be equipped with these i resume are india,s future acqusitions but may include

230 SU30MKI = Current Russian Radar

LCA = being tested with ELTA 320 mechanical Radar Israel. But IAF may need 100+ Radars for first 6 Sqds..

MRCA = 126 planes have to have AESA as a prerequisite to win the order.
