IAF pilots resign to join airlines

Fighter pilots defect as airlines take fight to Air Force camp.
Economic Times (New Delhi, India) | November 21, 2006 | COPYRIGHT 2006 The Economic Times.

You are posting a 4 year old news, grow up dude.

Yeah IAF is facing this situation but it will soon change because:

1.) There airlines are facing tough times, like Japan airlines get bankruptrecently.

2.) Even when the Airlines business will back on track, there is a limit till which they can induct new pilots. Soon theya are gona saturated.

3.) There is gap in demand and supply as there is going to increase in the supply of pilots because of 5 Aeroparks coming up in India these will be less distraction for these guys.

4.) Also the rural or middle class youth who wants to serve the nation will get a better chance when we will have more pilot training academies domestically.

5.) As always there is a angel of babugiri also. The bureaucrats and red tape discourages the IAF pilots.

6.) As govt. is going ton take several steps the cause of IAF will be sorted out.
The news may be old but it's constant and you my friend are misinterpreting the facts as it's not just the airline incentive that's making pilots turn their back on the airforce.

Bingo..your bolded part is absolutely correct....We need to tell our youngsters about the great achievements of your defense organizations and the potential they can offer to them....Apart from that we need to ensure that people in defense sector are not left out when it comes to economic stability....

That will only help to motivate people to join these establishments, but not to stay there for long. For these institutions to be a lucrative career option for the youth not only salary but also work environment (for DRDO and ISRO) should be at par with those of private companies. People in these establishments are no doubt talented but lack commitment and motivation. Hope things change in the future. As for me even if I get a "little" less salary I would still join them with a glee on my face if the work env is good.

Yes you are right...However work environment is not that good in the private companies as we portray....There are people who work inhumane hours seven days a week as well complemented with job insecurity which can go as soon as your boss is not happy with you....However people still stuck to those jobs because in the end you do get a hefty amount of salary.....Also people have different definitions of healthy working environment....For me it can be creative work that i doing..for some one it can be a fancy building....for some it can be a 9-5 job...

In short there will always be people who are not satisfied no matter what...However i agree with the overall point of making defense establishments more lucrative...economically and work culture wise as well
