IAF pilot dismissed for assaulting senior, stealing TV remotes from officers’ mess
The IAF officer has challenged the sentence of the GCM in a military court in Delhi, filing an appeal against his conviction. He was granted bail by the Delhi court after having signed a personal bond of Rs 25,000.

An Indian Air Force pilot has been dismissed from service and sentenced to two years in jail after being convicted by a general court martial (GCM) under various charges including assault on his superiors, refusal to eat food and having stolen remote controls from the officers’ mess, Mail Today has reported.

The young flight lieutenant has challenged the sentence of the GCM in a military court in Delhi. He was granted bail by the Delhi court after having signed a personal bond of Rs 25,000. “We suspend the sentence of the applicant and enlarge him on bail on furnishing personal bond for a sum of Rs 25,000,” Mail Today quoted Justice VK Shali, head of armed forces tribunal bench, as saying.

In his plea before the tribunal, the IAF officer requested for bail and suspension of his sentence as he has already completed more than nine months in custody during trial. The military court has asked the officer to surrender his passport to the tribunal and restricted him from visiting any air force base or residential complex while he stays in Delhi or out of station.

“Around 20 charges were levelled against the officer in the GCM where he was found guilty on some of the charges. He was awarded seven years rigorous imprisonment but that has been reduced to two years by the service,” an Indian Air Force officer said

The dismissed transport pilot flew Antonov-32 cargo plane before being confined to the ground service due to a knee injury which he suffered during a sports event in 2013. The officer was a winner of gold medal for the IAF in a national shooting championship.

He had accused his superiors of harassment and claimed that he did not receive the right treatment at the hands of his superiors and was victimised ever since being grounded. After his failure to recover, he was declared permanently unfit to fly a transport on aircraft on April 21, 2016.

But the fundamental question that arises here is what was being watched. @El Sidd ?

It would be a loss for IAF to loose a brilliant pilot for mere remote or a little sub-ordination.

It costs so much money and time to bring IAF pilots to world class level...then loosing them for a remote is not economic.

Anyhow, let us withold judgement. Our indian friends know better.

I really do not want to generalize or trivialize this but there are some tell tell signs of disunity and disorder among the ranks and that too from the impressions of Indian press.

Even as big as the country is and as resourceful it is, the stingy nature has allowed this behavior to creep in. Fighting several indigenous separatist movement and guerilla warfare takes a good chunk of morale and unity out of the ranks.

With the recent Cow vigilantes and poor treatment of Sikhs can only result in more of such incidents although i trust the age old British system to amend these in time if not then Knock Knock !!

Dear El Sidd,

Indeed, good hearted humour is not only a vital tool to highlight underlying currents in respectful way but also it keeps the heart alive. Otherwise, all of us are deadwood floating helplessly in the river of Existence.

It is in little things that the natue of larger dynamics bear signs of impeding manifestations. Your observation is valid.

All Dialectics, by their very nature, struggle towards acceleration. It is in the natue of Things. The Way shows us this endlessly, in each and everything.

What we see before us is a subliminal acceleration of the indian dialiectis. Are they fully aware of it and driving it or just going along with it doesn't make much of a difference. That there is an acceleration gaining more speed is apparent.

It is certainly easy to fall victim to our own bias and see things through the lens of our wishes.

However, when a Dailectic Analysis is applied in a detached manner, guided by a Wholistic Framework, yes, you are correct, in little things lay the signs...

Perhaps Human Condition is Suffering after all.

What truly concerns me is the misery, pain and carrnage unguided Dialectic Acceleration can and shall unleash.

I hope that this impeding cycle can be avoided. For that to happen fundamental restructuring of thought process need to happen pronto.

But I see in the theatre of our study, of which you have rationally made a forecast, Prisoners' Delima has taken deep root.

I wish u guys too have the remote to stop the drone flying in ur country and distributing remote for all is quite economical too
