IAF Indian Air Force Better Than PLAAF?

Quality of planes are better on Indian side however Chinese have the ability to mass produce aeroplanes good quality planes like J10 while India is dependent on foreign sellers. I know my Indian friends will tell me about LCA etc. But even that is not yet in production line.

indeed...if war breaks out tomorrow...we'd have a fair chance of controlling the skies and maintaining our superiority in our borders...Pakistanis know how the quality v/s quantity factor pays off.
Even though the chinese have a good domestic industry...they'd need a decade to outclass the Russian tech..

It doesn't play a crucial role in the current conflict. China has almost the same equipment that India has. China can easily beat India at the end of the conflict.

You may be right but the answer is as vague as the question is. I mean how can one prove ABC is better than XYZ? When a war happens there are many other factors apart of military might. So the query is hypothesis whose has better air power. They never went on head to head. Keeping all geopolitics in mind, both seem almost equal to me. Also such big countries can not afford to go for a all out war therefore best chances for some short skirmish (even if it ever happens). Both sides are developing fast so this balance may tilt a little bit on either side. But then also, there wouldn't be much differences.
But these is not going to happens. There are sane people at responsible position. Hope peace prevails.

chinese rejected war practise with indians, because they dont wanna play dumb games. they are into real stuff and would like to show thire quality and capabilities in the real senario(given the oppertunity).

That's your theory sir. My theory different. What if china got mugged by IAF in war practise? That would be disaster for chinese air force sir. Same apply to IAF but IAF got trust on themself. Thats why they invited chinese air force but chinese air force rejected it. Now why did they rejected it sir? The reason was chinese air force got an edge in numbers but unfortunety war practise depends on machine and the experience. India far better in that due to our experience. China done right thing by rejecting IAF offer sir.

I think one very important factor to look at is......Combat expirience!!

India has fought 3 wars against an enemy that has mostly US made equipement.....

India trains on and has been trained by Russians and their technology....
China similar to India, has Russian machines or reverse engineered Russian fighters....
So as far as training goes, we might have the same doctrines.....however our combat expirience and level of preparedness to face a sudden eventuality of war on 2 sides gives us an edge.....


Now comparing apples to apples....China and India both have similar quality of fighters.....

F7 vs. MIG-21
J-10 vs Mig 29 (Though MIG 29K might be more advanced)
Su30MKK vs. Su30MKI

Now what may give China the edge is their numbers and larger number of AWACS....

However one has to take into account the theatre of battle as well.....
The Tibet region is not a suitable environment for air bases and Ive read about how it can cause problems for the aircraft during take off and landing.....
India has some of its best aircrafts and reopened forward bases in this very region......
I cannot comment about the AP area as my knowledge is limited....

Frankly I cant really pick one as both Air-forces must have their advantages and disadvantges.....I think it could be one hell of a battle!!!


However based on my expirience in the US, if the Chinese fly their planes anything like the way they drive.....trust me they are in a heap of trouble....LOL!!!!

i personally think - chinese air force is way stronger in number.

but when it comes to china - india is following pakistan air force doctrine . i.e we are here to defende ourself and for that india air force seems to be well equipped.

MKI is better then MKK, in a dog fight, of course. but when they are locked and hunting by a missile, the odds of being shot down are more or less the same. furthermore, mind that MKK serve as long range attack bomber in PLAA, so they won't come out alone and will be escorted by other fighters, j11s for instance, and AWACs.

and one more thing, if there will be a war between china and india, which i highly doubt, why would china send their ACs into india territory? the HN-3 curise missiles could do almost all the job that a MKK can do.

China's wont strike deep using air force.They don't have to.New Delhi could very well become under the artillery range if China goes on quick offensive with air force support..the main battles will be fought between air planes providing ground support to troops.Also, CHina has literally built thousands of cruise missiles so they might strike with them too.AFAIK, they also use rockets with artilerry can launch thousands of them which are very deadly.It will be a very disasterous war for India especially as Chinese main cities are well deep inside China including their capital..this is same like Pakistan vs India..here India becomes Pakistan and China becomes India...although the disparity between Pakistan and India is still less then INdia and China.The PLA has fought many battles..Korea, Vietnam, Sino-India war.It will be one hell of a mess for India at least.If India can strike deep inside China then it will be disastrous for China too.

Also, do you think bombing Delhi is a joke....You think we are going to leave our capital, the seat of our govenrment without air defence...??

Also you fail to understand that there are diplomatic missions from world over that are based in Delhi......do you know the fallout and political repercussions of attacking a country's capital when your dispute is related to a far eastern territory?? Do I have to spell out the retaliation from India if its capital is attacked.....China would only be stupid to step on a time bomb like that!!!
