Special ArrangementMEETING THE CHIEF: Air Chief Marshal N.A.K. Browne meeting the personnel of Southern Air Command in the city on Wednesday.

The Indian Air Force is going through tremendous changes in terms of inductions and modernisation, Air Chief Marshal N.A.K. Browne, Chairman, Chiefs of Staff Committee, and Chief of the Air Staff, has said.

“We had set very ambitious goals in the last two-and-a-half years and we have been able to achieve each one of them,” the Chief of the Air Staff said addressing the station personnel at the Southern Air Command headquarters on Wednesday.

“The credit goes to each of you, for your hard work and dedication. What each one of you is doing in your place, and in your capacity, however small it may be, contributes to this wonderful organisation of ours. The IAF does not belong to one person, but to all of us,” he said.

The Air Chief Marshal met and addressed commanders of all the formations under the Southern Air Command (SAC) as well as its Principal Staff Officers at the Commanders’ Conclave.

He also interacted with the personnel of Southern Air Command.

He also reviewed the progress of the first LCA base at Sulur and progress of work at Thanjavur, which is to be the next base for Su-30s.

The two-day visit to the State capital was the part of the farewell tour of the Air Chief Marshal who retires on December 31.
