An Indian Air Force chopper with three on board went missing near Sagalee in Papum Pare district of Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday, reported PTI. This happened hours after a chopper carrying Union Minister Kiren Rijiju made an emergency landing in a village near Itanagar due to inclement weather.

The Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) lost contact soon after its take off from Sagalee at around 3.50 pm before the rescue, Defence PRO Lt Col Sambit Ghosh said. Sources at the chief minister’s office here said Chief Minister Pema Khandu was monitoring the situation. Directives have been issued to the administration and the police to extend all possible help in the search and rescue operation. Talking to media, Rijiju said, “Weather is turbulent in North-East. I am safe but whole the whole state machinery is geared up to locate the missing IAF ALH chopper.”

Directives have been issued to the administration and the police to extend all possible help in the search and rescue operation. Hope everybody is safe including pilots..Huge amount of rain & landslides going on over those hilly areas..
