That's not good enough. Everyone knows that there is widespread sympathy for LTTE cause in India. That's just the way it is.

It is fair to say that central government is staying absolutely neutral in this since both pro-LTTE people and anti-LTTE people equally want India to act for them. There is a lot of misinformation being spread in Tamilnadu and apparently in Sri Lanka (going by comments from the posters on this forum atleast).

I think I like the principled stand Indian government is taking, just hope that the grandstanding in Tamilnadu will go away after the elections.

The local population is hence supportive of the Sri Lankan-Tamil cause, but I won't say they are pro-LTTE. Vaiko was pro-DMK first, then broke away. He was jailed by Jayalalitha for making pro-LTTE speeches. Later after he split with Karunanidhi AIADMK figured that he could provide the crucial swing votes to get Jayalalitha to power. So right now, even if he does not have much votes (He has only 6 seats in the 234 member assembly), he can play AIADMK against DMK in elections. Southern Tamilnadu is also a sore spot for DMK since the Azhagiri-Stalin power struggle were supposedly started there and hence there is a fear of losing votes.

CHENNAI: AIADMK general secretary Jayalalithaa on Sunday said she would send the Indian Army to Sri Lanka to create a separate Eelam.

“It is my firm proclamation. Tamil Eelam is the only solution to the sufferings of the Tamils. There is no change in my opinion. I will send the Indian Army to Sri Lanka just as late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi sent it to East Pakistan to create Bangladesh,” she said, campaigning for the party’s South Chennai Lok Sabha constituency S.Rajendran and Central Chennai candidate S.M.Mogamedali Jinnah. No dear, Srilanka is almost sold to China + Pakistan that's true. India will never intervene into any other country especially Srilanka , We know how our prime minister Rajiv Gandhi cheated by Rajiv-Jayavardhana accord , I doubt if India will trust Srilanka ! But still India maintains good relationship with Srilanka , so not sure why would some one discuss about India invading Srilanka.

Even if it happens how Pakistan/China can help Srilanka?
