So sexual assault victims are not supposed to try and recover and live their life normally?

They should not only suffer the trauma of being assaulted, but also let the perpetrator destroy the rest of their lives and prevent them from being happy & travelling?

The facts are that, like men or any other human being, women will react differently to trauma. Some women are mentally strong and able to push through the trauma quicker than others. Some are never able to recover mentally and live in a shell.

Generalizing and disparaging women because they don't meet YOUR definition or expectations of how a survivor of sexual assault should behave is really disgusting and an insult to those who have suffered trauma of any kind.

Wouldn't you also be more angry at the PPP than others if your mother, sister, daughter or wife was sexually assaulted by the PPP leadership while they were in power?

Claims have to be proven in a court of law. Right now, it is unkown whether she is telling truth or not. You are merely assuming that she is truthful. Afterall she stayed silent for so many years and now all of a sudden she blames so many people of a single political party.

If you want to say that you would like to wait for a court to pass judgement, then that’s fine, but don’t smear her because ‘she’s happy & traveling now’ or ‘why she waited to go public with the allegations’. In many of these cases women are ashamed about the assault and/or discouraged to proceed with their allegations by authorities. Her own embassy basically told her to back off because ‘the PPP was working for US interests’.

It would be extremely difficult out for a foreign woman in Pakistan to proceed with sexual assault allegations against the leadership of the party running the government, when your own embassy won’t support you.

I think if someone comes forward to claim rape charges , the country's law and order mechanism should become active in order to properly investigate the charges of "Rape"

Just because a lady happens to be a foreigner does not mean the courts should not investigate the case and police or detectives should not search for evidence of crime

Considering that the charges have been brought by Police the case should be investigated for accuracy or truth

I would not feel ashamed if it is Proven either Gilanni or Rehman malik were culprit in Rape
Crime of Rape has to be paid for regardless if the person is a Senator or not

It would be good if Police took action and showed up at Gilani's home or Rehman Malik to inquire about details
Should Supreme court decide that character of Gilani is not suitable and disqualifies him I would be ok with that outcome so he can go to Jail where he belongs
