‘I was framed’: Court outburst by mining tycoon Liu Han as he is sentenced to death

Chinese girls to think the western man is the perfect human through the infiltration of western propaganda into China.

Somewhat true. A little more complicated than that. I *think* it was a combination of being treated as second class citizens, a perception that Chinese men are cold/uncaring/have bad habits, and were philanderers once they get married. Also sadly some other stuff about physical "looking" traits that obviously exposure to western media have put into their heads. It's like women around the world have been watching too many Ms. Universe/World pageants.

It all comes down to fighting corruption, which is a positive step.

Retirement of 'naked official' reflects tightened corruption control- China.org.cn
Xiao agrees. "What is more important is not to allow the chance of becoming a 'naked official'." He said this would help curb corruption.

Fighting corruption has made the front pages of Chinese newspapers since President Xi Jinping became CPC leader in November 2012.

Xi has warned that graft is such a serious problem that it threatens the Party's very survival. He has vowed to go after powerful "tigers" as well as lowly "flies".

"As the ruling party, we should not allow the existence of 'naked officials', and Guangzhou is doing what we should have done before. It should be modeled nationwide," Xin Ming said.

Increasing people's quality of life depends in part on setting up a strict rule if law mechanism. Otherwise, economic gains will fail to produce optimum public good.

Mining tycoon sentenced to death- China.org.cn
In addition to the Liu brothers, three other members were sentenced to death, five were sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve, four to life imprisonment and 22 to imprisonment of different terms.

There were three former civil servants among them. Liu Xuejun and Lyu Bin, former police officers, and Liu Zhongwei, a former prosecutor, were sentenced to 16 years, 11 years and 13 years in prison respectively for harboring Liu's organization and taking bribes.

Those Dengist cults always act like it was Deng who saved China from the destruction of the cultural revolution.

But the fact is; the economic reform is an unstoppable trend that will be proceeded no matter who is in charge, it is not Deng's privilege as China's only economic reformist.

And they have left a lot of mess under the economic reform and let their family to take the opportunity to become extremely rich, the gap of the rich and the poor has increased tremdously.

Deng and his followers have simply breached the trust built by Chairman Mao's CPC and the Chinese people over the decades.

Xi Jinping now must bring the Maoism back in order to restore this lost trust under Deng and his successors.

Indeed, it is Deng who save China from destruction. When the great Leap failed in the late 50s, it was Deng policy that bring China back on track until the disastrous cultural revolution started by Mao that purged him.

It was until the late 70s, Deng make another come back which saw him started the Sino-Vietnam war which he realised how backward PLA is at the time. But China do not have the budget for military modernisation.

Without a strong Deng, CCP will have internal fighting between full market liberisation or socialist market which will derail China economic reform.

And it was Deng who started complete CCP leadership transition without the dictatorship style of passing down to his son or close relatives like North Korea.

Deng is fully aware of western intention when Soviet Union collapsed. By the way, he did not expect Gorbachev is so weak and CCCP collapse so quicly.

All the corruption in CCP started during Jiang Zemin leadership. Tell me did Deng son or family become very rich? The answer is no. Unlike Jiangs family.

Please, don't ever compare Mao to the disgraced Kim family.

Mao's elder son was sacrificed during the Korean War, while he never intended to pass his throne to the younger one.

Mao has indeed made some mistakes, but Deng wasn't flawless like his followers claimed to be either.

The corruption has already started with Deng's era, while his successor Jiang has just spread it even further.

Indeed Deng is not perfect but trying whitewashed his contribution and distort some facts about his strong stance on market liberisation is something shall not be tolerate. As for PLA , in the early 80s. What do you expect to modernise PLA when money is not available?

While, it was Hu who actually mull PLA. Under his leadership, despite China already acquire a decent portion of wealth. He hardly channel much of the fund into military modernisation. The Long March 5 rocket by right shall have completed in 2012 but funded was approved only much of few years later.

To claim that Mao wanted to pass his throne to his son was simply a myth fabricated by the anti-Mao right-wing nuts.

Deng allowed western companies, NGOs and media to enter China and destabilise China. Deng was a pro-western liberal, always has been and always will be. Economic reforms would have been done by anyone after Mao died. Nothing special about Deng. Economic reforms are easy to do. In fact conservative economic reformers would have reformed the economy WITHOUT selling China to the US by allowing western NGOs, media and companies to dominate China. If China had a conservative leader, then the military budget would be at 6% of GDP. Deng like all liberals cut the military for economic reforms. Any patriotic leader would keep the military budget at 6% of GDP while doing the economic reforms.

When Mao decided to re-open the diplomatic relationship with the US, he already thought about the economic reform by using the western market, but it was not about to allow the West to access everything like Deng did.

Well, it is your internal affair. But I think without Deng, you won't have that shiny 095 SSN, 052D, J-10 and J-20, instead you'll stick on that old Luda, J-6 and Han SSN. And you will not drive a car or motorcycle now, but bicycle. And, you'll live like in North Korea now.

Plus, corruption is not because of liberal minded people, but because the ineffectively of the law. Xi reform is not because he is a hard liner CPC, but because he reforms the law and make it better. If he's success, Xi will be one of the greatest leader of PRC. It is because of his reform, not because he is a hard liner Communist.

Everyone thought about the economic reform, but Deng was just the person who implemented it.

But for sure, we don't forget his good contribution for the economic reform.

Because what Deng has done, it is ok to refute all the goods that Mao had done?

Without Mao, it is questionable that China could even possess the nukes, while the first step of China's industrialization was laid down by Mao.

No. I don't agree. You said conservative economy reforms? If you look at Gorbachev's policy, you will understand what conservative policy really is - China's reform. His shock therapy policy turned USSR into a disaster. He sold all the national assets over a single night. China learnt from them, that's why China is slowly carrying out the reforms.

I don't agree to say that Deng was 100% liberal, but nor he was a conservative, maybe something in between.

The biggest let down in his economic reform was the rampant corruption and many communist members started to lose their belief.

That's why Xi Jinping is now trying to fix this mistake.

Well, it is not the fault of anybody that corruption is there. Because corruption is anomaly. Something that will happen if unchecked. And corruption is not the side effect of Economy Reform or liberal minded people. Even in a bad economic country will have corruption in it. To combat the corruption, you don't have to kill your economy, but to improve the effectiveness of the law. Plus, with open policy, it is harder for a person to do corruption, because people will watch over them. In contrary, in a close political environment, corruption will become worse as they can steal people's money without anybody know about it.

Sure, since he cannot control everything as the economic reform led China into a new uncharted domain.

But the problem is that his family wasn't clean either, and he simply connived his family members to take the opportunity to become rich.

Xi Jinping's sister was a also a rich business woman, but at least he told her to stop her business when he became the President. To open the green light for you family members' business with all the power your possess is simply a really unethical practice in China. Wen Jiabao did the same, that's why many people simply hate him.

Well, then clean them all. Everyone of you can help Xi watching over the Chinese official, so the law can stand and protect your country from those Rat (corruptors). But I prefer to call Xi as reformer rather than somebody who want to return your country into '60.

What can be better than this in the eyes of your people? a giant China with great economy and clean government?
