First he accuse Musharraf for forced media statement, but he is now endorsing those same statements . AQ need total bed rest , he is cancer patient. Plus most of time his statements are twisted by media. He is one of national hero. But he doesn't know how to handle media.

Why did you ask for same NSG waiver just like India got. It was up to other countries whether to give it to Pakistan or not. India hasn't given this tech to anyone while Pakistan did. It was the major reason why there was different decision.

I believe AQK is referring to what happened when Musharraf removed him from his posts in 2004 and the earthquake hit a few months later, destroying the centrifuges at Kahuta and spewing corrosive radioactive gas everywhere. Not very safe, that. Mushy purged so many people no one knew what to do. AQK might have, but he gave Mushy the finger.

Throughout the interview AQK is reaching for power and trying to create situations that would emphasize his indispensability. Another example: those anti-aircraft missiles he refers to were developed in his labs from Stingers his men stole from supplies intended for the anti-Soviet mujaheddin. (At the height of his power AQK had access to all materials the U.S. provided for that war as well as all funds the U.S. provided to Pakistan whatever the U.S. intended them to be for - weapons, schoolbooks, farm assistance - everything could and was diverted to the nuclear program if AQK desired it, while the U.S. got the blame for not caring about Pakistan when money and materiél never reached its intended destination.)

He lost his respect by his own actions.

1. He posed in Chagai Tunnels, to be published in next day's newspapers as the "Father", despite the fact that he was only a guest there.
2. He claimed all the credit for cheap publicity, despite he was leading only the enrichment process.
3. He wanted KRL to weaponize HEU, just because he wanted to get more and more involvement, forgetting that KRL didn't have the expertise (PAEC on the other hand had conducted 24 cold tests).
4. He threatened to release Pakistan's Nuclear Secrets if any harm was done to him.
5. Time and again, he keeps uttering BS which is against Pakistan's National Interests, and destroys Pakistan's image in the world, just for his own personal satisfaction.
6. His interview to an Indian journalist became the cause of the Pressler's Amendments (embargoes) on Pakistan.


It is my understanding that the Military did not stop him from the publicity stunts on purpose after he became known to the world. Instead, this let the world keep its focus on AQ Khan, while the REAL scientists and engineers worked under the covers. The world still doesn't knows the person who led his team on developing the Nuclear Weapons Designs for Pakistan. May he Rest in Peace.

The problem is his actions have done so much damage to his country and have become one of the many bones down the throats of Pakistani government vis a vis WOT and other regional inclusions.
