I have to protect American jobs: Obama on outsourcing

.
It is hard for them to backtrack on the free market regime openly... but the recent curbs are subtle attempt to do a similar thing under disguise.
See all that matters to the people in the US is jobs... they have seen the corporates tighten their belt, operational efficiencies increased to a point where not much can be done, stock market seems to be on an upward trend... whereas the ground reality still remains grim.

It is the masses who will be voting in the next election and with his popularity rating on a downward trend, he will have to try his best to bring back jobs to the main street. Lets see how it goes.

but if the major U.S comps are restricted from outsourcing ,then they would be forced to operate at a loss .Gradually they will seek to move their major subsidiaries and in time their head offices away from the U.S .....and this in turn will propel the U.S economy even downwards.

Indians because of the cost and skilled labor factor has a client base in European economies too , so if the major comps like Microsoft etc are not allowed to operate efficiently in U.S territory they will sure as hell seek alternatives in U.K , France , etc...even in places like Singapore or Australia as bases from where to carry on their outsourcing operations.

If OB cant offer any economic /military sops at all his visit would have little more credence than a mere holiday, and also cool Delhi's cosying-up attitudes towards Washington .

The guy needs support give him a break.

From the point of view of an India,we would like to see what we have in store if we agree with him on the International platform....We just expect him to be fair and impartial. Now is that asking for too much???

We dont have any discriminatory policies for the US based companies doing business in India,do we??Its a free and open market here with equal rights for every one....Expecting a response in the same line is definitely not asking for too much.....

If he is facing internal issues then he has to deal with it accordingly.Being the President of USA is not supposed to be an easy task after all.If he wishes to address his internal issues at the cost of International relations and that too with friendly nation like India, then of course there is a price to pay somewhere down the line....

This guy is an absolute disaster.

Or rather he is a three word wonder - "Yes We Can".

The Reps will be laughing their a55es off ,thanking this guy for re-surrecting their flailing popularity after the economic mess and Iraq War.

Very true... but the point I am trying to make is that at the ground level... bottomline people will vote him if he is able to create jobs in the US.
Don't confuse with creating jobs locally and preventing outsourcing. They are two different things. However they want to stop outsourcing, they cannot because at the end of the day it is the CEO of the company who has to make the shareholders happy... capitalist economy.

But he could help create jobs in the US if he is able to find markets for its products in bigger emerging markets. One such example being military deals, which would translate into lot of manufacturing jobs in the heart of the US. Thats where the local support for Democrats will come from.

Thats quite right Karthik... the "Yes We Can" has long been forgotten... maybe it was just limited to winning the elections.

The Reps are having a gala time after winning senate majority after the mid-term elections. This sure is going to bring his popularity rating down and make his decision making powers even weaker.
