What's new

I have better healthcare in China than in the US!

US hospitals can't turn away people at the doors.
If somebody walks in sick they have to be treated whether they have money or not.

If they have insurance the hospital will charge the insurance company who then will turn around and possibly make the patient pay for not alerting them they are checking into some expensive hospital.

If they are poor and have no insurance the hospital bills the government.

No hosptials can turn away emergency patients, but if you can casually walk in by yourself and only have some minor problem like a common cold, probably you have to pay to get treated, in some Chinese provinces like XInjiang and Tibet, they have a policy of get treat first and pay later, but not all Chinese provinces.

.
In US, you can shoot yourself and ER wont turn anyone away. But if you got no monies, dont expect to get an appointment, even for a fever.

If you are on normal insurance you got to wait.

If you are elites, there are always fast track.

It might be true. Except the medical textbooks (literal and metaphorical) from which Chinese doctors learn is written in America
are you sure on that , i always taught some of them must be different , when i was studying to get my MD and become a GP I had a friend who get a MD in china and then after that he get a specialty in some Chinese traditional medicine .
when he come back here he had to start from the 3rd year of our 7 year course because his degree was not acknowledged due to different study materials while if you get your MD from USA or one accepted European or Asian university you only had study 1-1.5 year some general courses and all your degree (even if you had an specialty) will be accepted

For all practical reasons most of the medical knowledge is coming from USA - whether it be cutting edge equipment, medical drugs

This is right. The rich in USA can live 100 years old.

But basic healthcare (which can easily be cheap) is deliberately make unaffordable.

I been US many times and I see people on Fentanyl. Initially I wonder why after observation, I realize many of these people have medical condition and in pain. They have no monies for doctors. So they took opoids.

about study material some countries have different textbooks
about health science , well its true a lot of research are held in USA , but published in English is not equal to it came out of USA . right now South east Asia produce more dat in medical field than north America . if you look at the medical text books you see the studies they are based on are more probably held outside usa

In US, there are many cases of recreational drug abuses. But there are also MANY case of chronic pain sufferers who cannot afford medical treatment.

All hook on opoids.

I guess US elites want to kill a slow death part of their population.

In US hospital you walk inside for fever they can send you go chest X ray and bill you 3k USD.

But then if doctors dont cover themselves by over diagnosis, some scvm will mark them and sue them for 1 millions if there are undiagnose conditions.

Problem of US is privatization of health care and legal.

A Canadian friend told me that seeing a doctor in Canada would take a very long time, he was shocked at the fact that in Beijing if you like to see a doctor now and in one or two hours you will be talking to a doctor in the hospital and all the test can be done and results come out in a couple of hours.

I went to hospital in China

Indian family visit a public Chinese hospital in Beijing

Everything is so good.

I say one problem of USA is their legal system , they can sue a doctor for something that is expected to happen , instead of only be able to sue if you do something wrong.
they even can sue if nothing happen , thats the ridiculus 3000k for an xray . here it's not even 1$ in private sectors

Anytime you go US hospital for fever they send you to large number of blood test and x ray. Else if later you found out hidden condition, lawyers will instigate you to sue doctors for millions.

The bill for normal fever or cough is often about 3k USD,

Exception is -- if you are in insurance. While they charge you high price, the insurance cartel is able to get 90% discount for what is on the bill and insurance just pay hospital 10% of what is on paper.

But then US pay about 20% salary to insurance for middle class. It is like a tax.

The lower class cannot afford insurance.

The system is not straight forward

For 80% of the people the basic healthcare is fine. you need to know how to play the system. a lot of people are too busy, too naive and maybe too dumb to play the system

Pain is overrated. A lot of folks taking painkillers have no business taking them in the first place.
