What's new

I hate my girlfriend, because i love my car.

im sure i would...i was at ''best buy'' store and was close to buying it; not sure why i didnt

as for cardiac shock, well -- i'll make you sign a waiver before i put the sound up.

i have this ''bass knob'' in my center console. My friends call it the ''death knob''

to put things into perspective, the left spring holding the trunk up ---it's mount snapped due to vibration and now i have to get it welded.....the trunk doesnt stay open, and it sure doesnt help that i have about 10-12 pounds worth of dynamat (sound proofer) on inside of the trunk lid

oh yeah, and i have to replace brake light and reverse light bulbs about twice a month because they literally break or the fillament goes bad when the SPL levels are very high (when bass knob is past 60%). It's a 2000 watt system though i've seen and heard even louder than that; so loud that you cant even breathe or think

i'm kinda into that car audio crap.....not sure how or why. Just kinda happened.

I have a proper bass setup too, but at home, since the car environment poses its own insurmountable limits for sound quality. And until Elmo offers its apology, I am not telling you the setup at home. :D

Hey zulfi wrora.. my jeep is almost ready... will get it on 20th.. suggest me some good subs n amp.... available in the country... should i get those sony Xplod ones or pioneer ? JB or what?

Bang & Olufsen?? :D

yes acoustics in car are not ideal --especially in a 27 year old Mercedes.

in new SUVs it's better the whole car acts as an enclosure

and in bedrooms -- well, i wired up the Kicker in my room and it caused a lot of mayhem. Things falling from everywhere.

LOL! Bass will do that to loose items. :D

I dislike loud music in a car simply because I like to keep a feel for tire and engine noise at all times, just to have an idea of where the limits are at any time, unless cruising on a warm evening with the top off etc. etc. etc. ;)

30 K..i already have a pioneer pre..which i salvaged frm my toyota 2006..after the crash.. rest was stolen or went missing in the worshop..

we can work with that, let's build you system......

first of all, do u have hard top, soft top (or no top)...

do you like mid-range bass (thump thump) or low range (booooooooom booom)

need to figure out whether u need sealed or ported enclosure

Also im getting 16x275 AT tyres for the CJ..

i hear you.....actually my car's a 5 speed ---and it has no tachometer. I'm used to the gear ratios and know what the shift points are (even with music up) just because i've driven the car so much i know it inside and out. But usually, if you're first getting used to a car you should be able to hear things like that and be used to it

and actually, in a car like Vette or any sports car --no need for loud music because the exhaust note is best music of all

It is not just the shift points, the tire noise at the edge of traction is crucial for me to keep in the back of my mind, plus the chassis "feel", in the twisties. A simple light to light drag race, not so much! ;)

The rest I agree with. :D

you always have TC on hai naa :D

Nope, not always. A clutch dump at 3k, followed by rapidly rammed shifts all the way to triple digits, needs NO stinkin' TC! :D

(if it is wet, hell yes it is on, plus the C6 TC also has a Competition Mode, works pretty well. :D )

i love the sound of matching revs when downshifting on the vettes....more than just a ''blip'' :D
