I don’t eat beef, media put words in mouth: Rijiju

AFAIK She doesnt, she is a pure vegetarian.....

But my question is relevant How is it she or anyone (mallu) eating beef gonna make a difference to other Hindu's?
For the present urban youth it may not but orthodox people despise beef eating...you will not even be given water or food in the same glasses or plates they use.the more north you move the more orthodox it gets.conduct a poll on this forum to see if Hindus approve of keralite Hindus eating beef...people on this forum may not hate you for it,but I assure you they wont approve it either.

Muslim traders to launch anti-beef campaign in UP

Sanjay Pandey, Lucknow, May 28, 2015, DHNS:

Amid controversy over beef ban in Maharashtra, Muslim traders in Uttar Pradesh have decided to launch a campaign against cow slaughter and eating beef during the forthcoming holy month of Ramzan.

The UP Muslim Traders’ Association would be sending hundreds of workers to the Muslim-dominated areas in the state before the beginning of Ramzan to persuade them not to eat beef.

Shamim Shamsi, president of the association, said the government should impose a ban on cow slaughter and export of beef. “We will create awareness among the Muslims on this issue. We will try to persuade them to desist from cow slaughter and eating beef,” Shamsi said.

Muslim traders have also sought financial assistance to those, who keep cows. “Often the poor farmers, unwillingly sell their cows for being slaughtered, when they stop giving milk,” said another trader.

“Such farmers will not sell their cows if they get financial assistance from the government,” they added.

They also said most of the slaughterhouses in the state were owned by musclemen politicians and as a result, no action was taken against them. Senior Muslim clerics also extended support to the campaign saying they would do their bit in creating awareness on this issue.

“We have always been opposed to cow slaughter. We should avoid eating beef as it hurts the sentiments of the Hindus,” said senior Sunni cleric and All India Muslim Personal Law Board member Maulana Khalid Rashid Firangimahali.

Shia cleric Maulana Kalbe Jawwad also voiced similar sentiments. Ban on beef in Maharashtra and the recent remarks made by some NDA ministers, including Minister of State for Home Kiran Rijiju, and Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, have triggered a huge controversy over the issue.

Kicking up another controversy, BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain today asked Muslims to demand ban on sale of beef in their states to "promote communal harmony".

"Decisions are taken by the government based on public sentiments. Each government wants that public sentiments should not be hurt. The Maharashtra government too has banned the sale of beef after taking public sentiments into account," Hussain told reporters here.

"Muslims from other states should take cue from the Maharashtra government's decisions and come forward to demand ban on the sale of beef in their respective states. This will promote communal harmony," he said.

When asked about his colleague Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi's comments on sending the beef-eaters to Pakistan, Shahnawaz said, "Our intention is not to hurt anybody's sentiments. We don't have any right to send anybody to Pakistan and nobody is going to do that even if we ask them to. Moreover, we are not going to do that (ask those who eat beef to go to Pakistan). Maharashtra government's decision (to ban beef in the state) is to bring communal harmony. Our eating habits should be the same".

The decision to extend ban on cow slaughter to bulls and bullocks in the state has invited a strident opposition from the BJP's allies like the Republican Party of India (RPI) led by Rajya Sabha MP Ramdas Athawale who have been demanding an immediate revocation of the order in the interest of people.
