What happens if Pakistan were to withdraw the majority of its forces from the Indian border?
Which of the following are likely to follow.

• India reciprocates the move by drawing down its own forces
• Mutiny within the Pakistani military

A stated in the title, this is a hypothetical scenario. Please avoid stating why it may or may not happen.

Indian forces are at the borders to counter terrorists that get pushed into Indian territory or to counter surprise attacks from Pakistan like in 48, 65, 71, 99 - mujahadeen attacks in 48, operation gibraltar, operation grand slam, Kargil are examples of it. Indian troops are there to be vigilant and to defend our territory against potential terrorists and Pakistan's grand designs, so any drawdown will only put us on ease as PA not present on Indian borders will only reduce the terrorist movement across the LOC.

Mutiny is very much possible if anyone makes PA to divert it from it's India centric ideology. Some General would most likely usurp power in Pakistan.

Not likely, the terrorists get PA artillery and fire support to infiltrate into India - a draw down by PA in the borders will reduce the infiltration and will hamper with terrorist movement. PA facilitates the movement of terrorists into India, it does not stop them.

i say pakistani nukes are only thing deterring india, and we have enough of those,so cap the program, so why dont we cut our army to half its size? and spend the money saved on modernizing other 2 forces or in energy sector?
