It is easy to shoot the messenger
His message is simple but uncomfortable - a lot of American help did not buy America lasting popularity with the Pakistani public. Why should Pakistan's love affair with China be any different ?
You're damn right we'd shoot the messenger. And no it's very hard, not easy, especially when the messenger is someone else's poodle barking at you from a distance.
I'd like to see this guy go up against a credible Pakistani expert offering a counter narrative. He is in a special position, no enemy is worse than a traitor, especially one as venomous and false as him.
Also, US-Pak relations are getting slightly better, still quite bitter, but on the mend hopefully, and people like him are nothing but a set back. And a needless set back I may add.
No matter how you look at it, whether you are pro/anti-Pakistani, or pro/anti- Pak policy. One thing you should be able to tell as long as you have a reasonable base of knowledge; He is a liar, he's dishonest, thus the hate you see here is a very reasonable response.
Since this news article has been published, we have witnessed many readers accept Mr. Haqqani’s opinions as the official position of the U.S. government, which is not the case. Our decision to conduct an arms sale worth a billion dollars, our current and future plans of conducting several joint military exercises with Pakistan, and our constant acknowledgement of the achievements of operation Zarb-e-Azb should be clear representation of where we stand in our relationship with Pakistan. Ever since the beginning of operation Zarb-e-Azb, Gen. Lloyd Austin III, Commander of U.S. Central Command, and Gen. Campbell, Commander of Operation Resolute Support in Afghanistan, have both testified to congress about the achievements and sacrifices of the Pakistan military against militancy in the region.

It's okay, you need not clarify. We don't take this guy seriously anyway.
