Jankel (Stand 05-C09) is promoting its latest-generation Hunter Tactical Intervention Vehicle (TIV) at IDEX, as well as a wide range of survivability systems that includes its best-selling BLASTech mitigation seats.

According to the company, the Hunter TIV has recently been ordered by an undisclosed customer in the Asia Pacific region. It has been re-engineered to provide increased internal and stowage capacity, as well as a number of automotive improvements to meet the specific needs of the customer.

Production of these will be undertaken at Jordan Light Vehicle Manufacturing (JLVM), which is Jankel’s joint venture with the King Abdullah II Design and Development Bureau (KADDB).

David Crosby, commercial director at Jankel, said: “The Middle and Far Eastern regions continue to be strategically important markets for Jankel and we are ready to put the latest-generation Hunter TIV into volume production for the first time.” So far, Jankel has more than 350 vehicles in service across 11 countries in the Middle East and neighbouring regions.

The Hunter TIV is based on the commercially available Toyota Land Cruiser Pick-up (4x4) platform, with the all-welded steel body providing protection from 7.62x51mm NATO Ball (CEN Level B6) small arms fire and underbody blast protection for up to eight crew. The commander and driver are seated to the rear of the protected engine compartment and the six dismounts are in the rear, three on either side facing inwards.

The wheels are fitted with a Hutchinson 50km run-flat system, and the rear troop compartment has six vision blocks and associated gun ports. The Hunter TIV is being marketed in both left- and right-hand drive configurations.
