Huge India Win, Its Judge Dalveer Bhandari Is Re-Elected At World Court (ICJ): 10 Points

Kulbhushan will get his due fair trial now :police:
Yes bcuz his previous trial was so unfair right?

Only innocent Indian ppl change their identity, carry fake passports and enter an enemy country through Iran rather than India so they can roam around in Balochistan.

Every year many Indians visit Pakistan and have no problems. They are not caught for being a spy. Why would Pak security forces just grab him and chalk him as a spy when they let all those other Indians roam free and return to India?

U can keep believing he was innocent but u still can't justify why he had changed his name or carried fake passport or the fact that he was caught in Balochistan. Why would an Indian "businessman" need to go to Balochistan? It's not exactly the next up and coming Silicon Valley.

As for the ICJ ruling...it doesn't matter even if the decision goes in favor of India. ICJ can't enforce anything on any country.

. .
We now have the right to appoint our own judge on the panel. I think ots good news for us.

A small correction. Only an Ad-hoc judge only to represent a specific case. Nothing more. :)

.
Congratulations to all Indian. Till yesterday after reading relevant articles, I thought it will be impossible to get this seat as Security Council will override General Assembly of UNO. After reading the news I am so excited about the status our country India has achieved in International diplomacy. Those who think it is just a minor achievement really don't know the power of P5 countries. These P5 countries block any move which is against their interest. Even single country veto can stall any resolution in UNO. India won this seat by defeating one of P5 country. So cheers everybody. It is a big day in our diplomacy.

.
For withdrawing.. our media was like.. they'll do this and that. Was there any official confirmation from UK about overriding the GA verdict? If there was.. you guys are right.
They should have backed long time ago.
They knew they couldn't stand a chance.
But when they realized it's all over they dropped

What we want is the ICJ ruling in favor of India and then Pakistan acting against the ruling. If that happens, it's mission accomplished for us. :p:

Congrats to India. Briton withdraw before it got messy, good for them.

. .
I'm wondering what will happen to Kulbhushan Jadhav's case in ICJ now
Nothing much. Either Judge Bhandari would stay away from the case. Or there will be an ad-hoc judge from Pakistan for that matter.

Also, mind that one judge cannot change the ruling unless there is a stalemate between other judges.

Mission accomplished how exactly?

- If ICJ rules against India then u guys r back to square one

- If ICJ rules in favor of India...Pak will reject the decision. While that may negatively effect any of Pak's attempts to approach the ICJ in the future for any disputes...in my opinion it's a non issue. Ever since the Atlantique Aircraft incident, where the ICJ just cited jurisdiction crap, Pak doesn't exactly look towards the ICJ to settle any issues between India/Pak. So it doesn't matter at all if Pak rejects ICJ ruling(if it goes in favor of India) bcuz ICJ is irrelevant in solving any India/Pak disputes.

.
Excellent news...India's diplomatic pressure has won the seat for India..11 rounds of voting has been conducted after each round...India increased its lead in GA, security council India was trailing 6-9...till yesterday...but scene changed late night with one country flipping towards India making it almost even at 7-8...so Britain has no option but to withdraw it's candidate!

Either you don't know or you are lying blatantly here my friend.

You are correct that during the Atlantique incident ICJ didn't had jurisdiction to pronounce a verdict. But now ICJ does have compulsory jurisdiction, mark my words, compulsory jurisdiction. Please check the facts from your own sources. :p:

Pakistan had accepted compulsory jurisdiction of the ICJ in the case of Vienna Convention on Consular Relations 1963 (VCCR) by acceding to the Optional Protocol concerning the Compulsory Settlement of Disputes 1963.

Pakistan at the ICJ

Experts wonder why ICJ jurisdiction was recognised in March

If you don't know, I bet it will be a great a surprise for you.:rofl::rofl:

@Tom M :D I think we should cheer, not for the KJ case. But the fact that, India got immense support from the General assembly. And secured 5 votes in UNSC although against 9 for UK (For obvious reasons).

Why shouldn't we ??? It's not about KJ anymore. We already had the seat and we retained it overwhelmingly is a victory in itself. No doubt about that.

And guess what?
All four permanent members (US/France/Russia/China) rallied in favor of Britain and NOT India!

So much for Indo/Russian friendship?
Lol
