To be fair, it will never fail, the domestic market is just too big, the problem will be adoption overseas, Chinese market will provide a sanctuary for them to perfect the ecosystem before starting another onslaught, you can ask anybody now, most westerners, japs and Koreans suddenly know HUAWEI, a chinky company who needed the might of all US tech giants to be subdued. Suddenly they realize hey this company makes good phones! Nobody believed ANYONE would buy a phone called WAH Way. Come' on! You might say telcos choose based on cost, but WAH WAY phones are not cheap. That's a revolution itself, a chinky brand name selling top quality phones. Could you have imagined it 5 years ago? Now what if I told you this chinky company is gonna challenge android? =)2 years ago
"Chinese high end smartphone alternatives are destinied for failure"
"Competing with Apple's and Samsung's dominant high end devices is a fruitless effort"
China already have apps that can rival and surpass those of American ,CCP just need to show incentive for a centralized "all chinese app" sphere upon an unified app store combining tencent, oppo and huawei app store and then release english version of chinese apps like youku, wechat,QQ,weibo, iqiyi, baidu, qqmusic with little tweaks .These apps can more than make up for Youtube, instagram, twitter.Nobody cares about the OS. It is about apps & services. American companies are way ahead in that game
It won't be as easy you think their is a reason why even Microsoft OS was not able to capture the market....Btw India has its own OS...Indus OS which has 10 million user base with 4,00,000 apps in app bazaar at present with this OS you can catch lower end of the market but for middle or higher end you need either IOS or Android...OS isn't their main problem as huawei has something that western competitor don't have which is direct government backing they can afford to release an OS and build upon it overtime while same can be done for markets such as India etc with specialized OS such markets they can provide incentive for these government to adopt their new OS .the hard hit market for huawei would be in Europe as they might lose all of their smartphone sales there .
But the most problematic thing for their smartphone business would be ARM as without them production of their high silicon chip set would probably stop .
Hahaha so sad such a large state couldn't find a good OS name.Indus OS
The OS is owned by a private company not by state....So its up to them which name they liked...Hahaha so sad such a large state couldn't find a good OS name.
choosing a chinese product is one thingAlibaba was/is a success, even with ebay and amazon. Americans shop at aliexpress for deals. Americans will bypass google to Chinese operating systems for security.
