So I wanted to ask this for a long time.
Let's take the strongest Arab countries(Egypt, Saudi, UAE, Algeria and Iraq).
How do they compare with other Middle eastern countries in terms of their local defence industry to Israel, Turkey and Iran?

the impression that i get is that most arab states are attempting to emulate western free market driven enterprises in defense compared to the usual state-owned flops that so many developing countries (like pakistan) have attempted.

very critical for innovation and progress - the defense industry should be largely private industries
