How US companies helped China develop its Z-10 attack helicopter

I think US underestimated China's potential to develop advanced attack helo so they remain silent until now the helo is reality and US doing all this.:P

or the PTC bribed FBI to remain silent so they can make profit

I don't think so the Russian have surely help them a lot. In every way. That's for sure!!!

are referring to mig help to china in case of JF 17 in 1990s? or help to their heli industry?

Its an indigenously designed chopper, china only copied tech from the Pratt & Whitney engine. Besides every country spies on foreign military tech. The US and soviets also copied german and japanese sub technology.
Indians are trying to troll on chinese military tech all the while their DRDO is still at this level:

How would you know Bangladeshi? All you guys on this forum is side with China n Pakistan while maligning India at any opportunity. No one in India claimed it was totally indigenous. Only fools like yourself would think so. When we point that out about CHina, you and others just blindly support without proof. Now, proof has come out and guess what it? The Chinese Heli is not INDIGENOUS. Btw when was the last time Bangladesh produced anything of value? Oh yeah my boxers and briefs...keep it moving

But everyone of the technology the Germans brought over could not have been possible without the US research and scientist.

Broadsword: How US companies helped China develop its Z-10 attack helicopter... and then got fined a token $75 million for that deliberate violation

Col. Shukla -

There is more to this than the 75 million. It is a clarion call to American companies to stop doing what they have been doing for long.

As for the PRC is concerned, I have nothing but grudging admiration for them, while our "policy makers" and "leaders" wallow in shitty, misguided hubris and turn a blind eye not only to military strategy, but also to developmental strategy..

As for the PRC's capabilities, just think of Larry Chin...

We have much to learn from the PRC, in every sphere.

Heberian,
There is tacit US Government approval to assist China build its military capability. The only requirement being, the know how transfer from WEST is controlled by US.

US has always been helping chinese, while putting all kinds of EULA, EUMA against India for even legitimate FMS deals.

Great that IAF didn't fall for shornet or f 35 deals. There would have been negligible cost, the media would've bought by US companies to condemn indigenous AMCA, that would have have been scrapped.

While the threat of US sanctions would have armtwisted India like anything.

It can be expected that the fines were already taken care off in the cost and profit calculations.

China has a strategic plan to become the next dominant super-power, and for that it has already done its ground-work. India should learn from China and start looking to build capacities first in Manufacturing, Semiconductor, Infrastructure development and research. If these areas are ignored in favor of already mature field of IT, then we are not going anywhere forward in the future. Also the will to lead has to come from Political class at state and local government levels. Most of which is either absent or unwilling to change. Indian mentality is still feudal, which needs to change drastically and freedom to do anything should be allowed for real individual growth.

Stop staring at China and instead learn from their expertise. Indians have the power of imagination and capabilities for research, but when it comes to giving shape to their dreams and imaginations, they are severly handicaped. Unfortunately no one in our society has fully realized the importance of manufacturing and prototyping skills over the software IT skills. It is equally important that our children are taught the practicals of fabrication, manufacturing and Machining from junior school level. And each house should also have a 3D printer and mini-CNC machine to give shape to their dreams along with the usual PC computer, Laptop and Tablets.

@Ajai sir

If any Indian govt. or a company would have supplied any system/ engines/engine parts/software which may have been remotely associated to US companies to a country which is not in the good books of US, all hell would have broken loose on India and sanctions would have been imposed.

But the meek response to what the Chinese have done states that for US money is everything and they dont want to loose money making chances in China.

How the Chinese succeeded in getting the PWC and others to supply the software only tells about their clout. The Chinese have done the same with Russian systems as well.

Their is joke going round, if the Russians dont find the blue prints or Tech documents of their defense products in Russia, they can well ask the Chinese to supply those original documents. So much for money power, huh.

Lets hope better sense prevails in US with regards to Indian companies.

Thanks
