How Turkey got LUCKY with the F-35?

Brother, those trillions of flaws and bugs that F-35 has right now are not an obstacle on F-35's combat readiness and performance. F-35 is ridiculously expensive because it is pushing the limits of technology. It is ridiculously expensive because it brings such capabilities that no other plane has in the World right now. Think about it; both the Russians and the Chinese have been working their *** off for years to have these capabilities on their planes but still they're far from it. Neither S-400 nor F-35 is a wunderwaffe. But please don't talk bad about a plane just because we can't have them. I am not a fan of F-35 too, but we should be honest. If we had a chance to get the F-35s, everyone here would praise them. We had to make a choice and we decided to go with S-400s

Do you really think its about the F-35?
It is his anger against the US,take a look at his posts and you'll understand.
I guess age doesnt matter, either you can or cannot control your emotions.
There is a Turkish poverb(ata sözü) which explains it all.
''köprüyü gecene kadar ayiya dayi denir"
I'm sure you know what i mean.
We have to focus on our goal without emotional bs and looking for excuses.
Gelde anlat bizim ''entelektüel'' arkadaslara.

If you took a look at TF-X discussion yesterday, he blamed me with being obsessed with the F-35 yet it seems like he is the one instead since he opened a discussion about it.. He thinks he can be an expert on this topic since he spent 20 years of his life in the US blah blah blah... He's just fooling himself.

Bosver,üstüne gitme.
I'm sure he'll understand,one day.;)

@ÇölKaplanı @T-123456 If you two are done rubbing each other on the back in your emotional support group, listen up.

F-35 is highly hyped up, too expensive to own and operate, not combat ready, and when it IS combat ready, it's fully controlled by the US, a country that consistently acts against Turkish interests. Throughout this thread I've given you examples of how and why that is the case. You on the other hand keep harping on the F-35 being a "technological marvel" like a broken record without showing any proof whatsoever besides marketing claims and rhetoric by Lockheed. It simply isn't what you think it is as it was designed to suck the US taxpayers and other global customers dry. Even Americans have realized this but they can't cancel it because "it's too big to fail". Truth is that it can't even reliably take off. That said, I generally respect people's desire to remain misinformed and ignorant. Your misplaced awe of the F-35 hype doesn't change the fact that Turkey has dodged a bullet (as did Canada) and is doing the right thing by focusing its efforts on its own indigenous weapons.

Don‘t expect fully control over a aircraft you buy from foreigners.

It doesn‘t need to be combat proven the avionics and radar it has is more advanced than that of the F-15.

F-35 is a economic fail but technology wise ahead of everything available.

turkey failed big time. fighter jets always trumps IADS. period

US assumption was how F35 will ever be used in a real fight, unless they give it to Pakistan which they wont. so Arabs will buy it like they did before and keep it in hangers, Israel will use it to bomb unarmed Palestinians, and US/NATO will use it against countries with next to NO Air Force.

Why doesn't Turkey order large quantities of F-35 (about 200) and ask for TOT?

In a scenario where Turkey somehow gets F-35 in large quantity than only with the same treatment the Israelis have... that means fully control over the aircraft and rights to modify it.

I doubt that the TuAF would accept anything less.

since F-22 came out immediately i had read a western article itself declaring F-22 as a flop project.

so lets be honest about something:

F35:

-high costs buying and maintaining
-under US control
-Us acting more and more hostile till extreem enemity to destroy our country
-no use against greek or else because of US control and grip
-flying trojan horse

-stealthy perfect for syria
-effective against russians (but how would the us allow us to fly it near russian radars?)
-effective agaisnt iranians
-good for our economy
-some technology transfer
-possible weapons sales

so there are benefits but also things speaking against it, we can say the fact that is it under US control is not the most worst part but more important is the Hostile and the threatening of our existence from many US governments is something you have to consider and it should be a red line.. if they are threatening to destroy us (pkk/ypg support and economy) than its more time to be more independend.. with EU and US going more and more into extreem right wing you have to consider that they may attack us in the future.. it is not a question of will they do it the question is when will they do it?

I think we need stealth ucav with air to air capabilities.. also stealth cruise missles/suicide drones with high ranges and the ability to hit targets at least 1200km away.. attacking is better than defending

but we need a new fighter aircraft.. ucav even with air to air weapons wont do the job in the near future and tfx is another story.. I think we should have joined the kfx program this kfx is likly to be sucessfull (i forgot why we did not want it..)
