How to tackle and reduce Air Pollution ?

Well since its related to my field I reccomend,
  • Organic waste can be dumped in places far from residential areas.
  • Inorganic materials such as metals, glass and plastic, but also paper, can be reclaimed and recycled.
  • The establishment of more smokeless zones.
  • Control over the kinds of fuel used in cars, aero planes, power stations, etc

@Nilgiri What is your thoughts of Capacitors as the source of energy Bank. There is no proper battery which is cheaper, lighter, and have unlimited charging and discharging capability.

2. Is is possible to have economical Fuel cell in automobile.

3. Can technology give us N. fusion as small to be used safely in cars.

1. Super capacitors are an exciting field for sure .The problem is their volume, cost, mass, energy density etc. compared to batteries of the same total energy storage. Much more work needs to be done to make them feasible like regular batteries. They also tend to be very finicky about the maximum voltage they can take (from what I have seen). Hence they are an ongoing field of research.

2. Yes, give it time. There are many breakthroughs and research activities currently going on regarding fuel cells. With advances in nanotechnology over time, they will become more and more practical similar to the supercapacitors....and better batteries. We will have to wait and see which technology prevails...or if combinations of them do (depending on requirements)

3. A long way away. We first have to develop nuclear fusion on a large scale first. We are still at a very early stage of concentrating initiation energies effectively and containing and sustaining the resulting fusion toroid. Long way to go.

:smitten:I love trees.
But in winter the scenery becomes terrible.

Which era you live in? This year, cost per unit of Solar was comparable to that of crude. And wind was cheaper for the very start of it.

Generation costs is not the issue anymore. Its storage and discharging efficiency costs, especially at the levels needed by modern society on demand.

I have heard some people say that planting too many Trees affect ground water badly:crazy: . Any truth in it ? @zebra7 @Nilgiri

Depends. Trees must be planted well and in an organised way with enough spacing.

The concrete uses a chemical in the mixture that essentially eats away at the dirt and grime deposited on it. Studies have shown that smog within 2.5 meters of the new concrete is able to be cleaned. The secret behind this concrete is a chemical called titanium dioxide, which reacts with the toxic nitrogen oxide in the atmosphere and converts it into nitrates that simply wash away in the rain. These chemicals have not only turned ordinary concrete into a self-cleaning material but into an air-cleaning machine. This revolutionary type of material is called photocatalytic concrete.

ever searched about concrete and cement industry contribution in Global warming ?? more then any other source...

1. Population control
2. Forest should be saved and planted more trees.
3. Technology to increase grain productions
4. Geo Thermo-electrical project -- Reduction of Coal based, Dams based and Diesel based Electric plants
5. Banning small Diesel based Generator
6. Technology to make Griffin based Capacitors to replace conventional batteries.
7. Use of Hydrogen as the fuel.
8. Thorium based Electric Plant.

A more easy and feasible solution is stop use of paper. the main reason of deforestation is paper industry. we have billions of mobile phones, laptops, Pc's . still using paper in "news papers,:... and coffe shops, making paper cottons etc etc etc...

Over 6.5 million trees were cut down to make 16 billion paper cups used by US consumers only for coffee in 2006, using 4 billion US gallons (15,000,000 m3) of water and resulting in 253 million pounds of waste. Overall, North Americans use 58% of all paper cups, amounting to a staggering 130 billion cups.

So by only stop use of paper we can save millions if not billions of trees per year. Agree ??. and we all know the contribution of trees in reducing air pollution.

Ever heard the term mixing it with concrete. Because these are to be mixed with cement that are going to be used to build stuff.

o_O
come again

Most of the trees used in the paper industry are replanted for harvesting again..at a later date...the forest cover is not a continually diminishing thing (it is more like a farm). Total strip clearing of trees is also not practiced like it was before (at least here in North America).

The pollution comes more from the actual paper processing itself (depending on the country and its standards)....because it makes no sense for a paper company to think short term and level a huge area of trees without replanting.

We would have lost a ton of forest cover in North America and Northern Europe as a result...a long time ago....which hasn't happened.

I have a question .

Current levels

Nitrogen = 78 %
Oxygen = 20
Carbon Dioxide = 0.04

We all know , That increase in percentage of Carbon Dioxide will adversely affect the Planet .
But what will happen , If levels of Oxygen and Nitrogen Changes .
Example:

Oxygen = 30-40 %
Nitrogen = 60-70 %

@Nilgiri @zebra7 @Providence @Godman

The O-O and N-N bonds do not have the same specific absorption regime for long wave radiation as the C-O bonds (and others like H-O and C-H). They are not greenhouse gases....their effects are minimal given the emission spectra of our star.

that's not what i am talking about.
See. you cut 100 trees for paper industry. and then you plant 100 trees next day... at the end of day number's remain same =100

but.
if you do not cut those 100 trees . and still plant 100 trees next day.. what will be the outcome ? it can improve things in a more good, feasible and healthy way.
