How to make PDF a 'friendlier experience' for everyone

Simple get rid of the trolls or if we can't get rid of them hopefully give them warnings till they get a life and start acting like human beings nothing less & nothing more .

Sometimes Locking Horns with well known Trolls/Newbies is good..You can laugh your heart out at their meaningless posts and the pain they go through to find maligning articles from Net..At times i indulge in this and is a welcome break from my two liners...

However this is the last place to shape your opinion as many of the posters are not matured enough...

These problems are not even limited to Pakistan or India. These problems also affect the behavior of other members of other nationalities, such as Chinese, Americans, Bangladeshis, Afghans, Iranians, people from Saudi Arabia etc. I think we owe it to ourselves to look at our posts when we first joined this forum, & see how they have changed (in a good or bad way) over a period of time.

When I first joined, I realized that many posters didn't care what I actually wrote in my posts, and back then my posts were positive towards almost everyone.

But a certain group of members here, only see the Chinese flag, and instantly go on the attack as soon as they see it.

The forum helps me keep up-to -date with the world news. However, the quality of discussions are rather poor. There is very little substance and a great deal of mud-slinging. This, however, is a an issue that can never be resolved. Also the definition of a troll is always dependent on the reader. While one side feels a particular user is a credible poster , the other side designates the the 'troll' status to this individual (vice-versa). You will always have conflicting opinions when you face off Indians, Pakistanis and Chinese on a single platform. This is inevitable.

For some people that have read my posts, they would think I am staunchly anti-India, anti-Afghanistan & anti-American. I am none of those things: I am a naturalized American citizen, my mom was born & raised in India; & my mom's family lives in India. I have absolutely nothing against Afghanistan or the Afghan people. I am a staunch Pakistani of course, but sometimes, there is no right or wrong answers in many situations. We are forced to take sides on difficult issues, & we defend our position to death even when the answer is not black or white, but in the 'gray area'.

Sometimes, I feel like the PDF brings out the worst in me, because I do not have anything against anybody, against anyone from any nationality. I don't take pride in offending others. There is always a war of words going on here, & I don't know if any of you have any regrets for any of your posts, but I do sometimes, because it is not who I am, & sometimes it brings out the worst in me. This is an excellent forum, a place where the voices of people from many countries is heard. So I would appreciate it if any of you could give suggestions on how to make this place 'friendlier', to learn from each other, & use it for knowledge & learning, for each other's benefit; rather than hurting each other.

I don't think there exist any term like "Friend or friendly" in political and defense level or forums so what brings you to clarify you used to do in forum?

CD is the person I have seen change the most in last 15 months.. I remember the time when he used to be accused as a false flagger Indian, because his posts were so benevolent towards India... Now he is probably the most anti Indian Chinese on the forum. I still doubt at times if his account was hacked or sold (yes, that happens) , but if the change is in real, then its the most drastic one I have seen in any single Individual..Kind of a case study for Bilal's OP thoughts..

I think you should refrain from posting your personal thoughts about a particular user in this discussion. First the user does not merit the attention you are so freely willing to give him. Second, this will result in off-topic discussions that are of no good to anyone.

Haha I think my reaction was perfectly logical to be honest.

For every positive thing I said about India, I would be called a "slanty-eyed chink faggot" several times every week. Ironically, always by Indians.

If you called a black person the n-word several times a week for months and months, I would be extremely surprised if they remained friendly. Wouldn't you?

So now I'm just giving them what they were expecting in the first place when they saw the red flag.

I think CD is right.
I have seen people calling him names and he changed.
There are a lot of bunch of racists out there freely in forum.

This place has given opportunities to engage , but a lot have misused that priviledge.

So what's your recommendations to solve this issues, maybe you can write long expression letters to WebMaster/Moderators or something? You have mention this topic again & again few months ago, it wouldn't change the perceptions of PDFs.

For the fact of negative dailys in Media everyday on Pakistan terrorisms, yes everyone will use negatives comments. After War on Terror in Afghanistan 2014, everyone will use positive comments towards Pakistan.

Brother, I advise you to avoid trollers simple and easy but you keep continue with them to attract mores.
