I have to agree with this view- the quality of journalism by vice has diminished greatly over the years. I miss the coverage from 2005-2009.

Correct, good investigation report is made by CNA (Singapore), this is how they should make the report by interviewing credible political analyst and many witness. Despite still something is missing like Indonesian Military never acknowledge they want to do coup to Soekarno.

Indonesia military indeed wanting to coup Soekarno since Soekarno is willing to accept Communist proposal to weaponize their members around 1 million strong and become part of Indonesia military force to help Soekarno military campaign in Malaya (Malaysia+Singapore). At that time, 1960-1966, Indonesia military was confronting Commonwealth military lead by Britain and Australia. ( Even Australia still put some of their Air Force in Malaysia until 1980's due to worry of another Indonesian invasion attempt )

In Pakistan there is a no democracy it's just a corrupt alliance of few families and influential group of people. They sorted out how the system works in their favour by fooling the general public. The barriers to entry in this field are simply too high for an ordinary citizen to participate for the real and honest contribution for his country.

The monopoly continues and people are not even thinking whether this so called democracy works or new system need to be introduced.

When she was PM I’ve heard that when a foreign business delegation would see her about investing in Pakistan she would talk to them and then send them to Zardari. Then Zardari would negotiate the percentage he and Benazir would get.

Also, she was the PM when her brother, Murtaza Bhutto, was murdered by Zardari using Sindh police. No one was ever punished as far as I know.

Benazir and Zardari were full partners in crime.

Back in my early days I almost got into local politics “thank god I didn’t” and it’s all about having a “blessed hand” over your head - kick backs - paid tickets and a lot of channa pilau rice for the “masses” for photo opportunities.

Votes are bought for as little at 100 rupees in some areas.

I had this guess. So it leads me to the follow up question, how did they get enough support in Punjab to form government? Winning an election means getting grass roots booth workers in every ward. It is not an easy thing for outsiders to accomplish. In India only Congress and BJP have this because of legacy of Independence and RSS.
