Woah really? damn but seriously i still thinks this tradition makes no sense at all no wonder western armies are advanced than us even in training these traditions just don't make any sense it's time we really do modernization on every level.

Umm actually we have lost very few soldiers in such siege ops and there were no civilian casualties.
In Pampore we eliminated two terrorists without any casualty.
In 26/11 terrorists couldn't take a single hostage after NSG arrived.
In Pathankot, terrorists could not attack security forces and were confined writhing 30 minutes.
In Nagrota we saved all hostages.
In comparison just look the disaster the Russians did in Beslan, hospital seige, Moscow theatre etc where many of their operators and hundreds of civilians died.
