fences are symbolic brother. they will be laughed at and ripped off for scrap. a proactive approach of addressing the issue and resolving it will be much better.

I believe they are part of the solution. That doesn't mean we stop talking to Afghans and various groups(apart from India, I don't think India can play any positive role when it comes to peace bringing peace on Pakistan's west border) that can play a part in bringing peace in the region. Afghan people can do with some peace considering their country has been at constant war since last 50 years, we had a massive insurgency all over Pakistan and look at the damage it caused so I cannot imagine the horrors the civilian Afghan population has faced for so long.

India has significant presence and stakes inside Afghanistan.
our personal dislikes and hostilities are irrelevant here
a peaceful Afghanistan will result in great benefit to Pakistan so whoever can help must help we would even encourage Kazakistan for all its worth if it helps. have we not suffered enough through blood and tears in our country? why not address the cause instead of the symptoms. its all good we blame everything to India for all terrorism but it wont help in preventing the terror attacks that have Afghan origin.


there are sane, normal and genuine people on the Indian side too. our positive and peaceful approach to them will make them force their decision makers to stop all hostile activities against Pakistan. they cant afford instability and terrorism inside their country because of their economic drive.

@Joe Shearer @punit @illusion8 and all those I forgot please forgive me as I was speaking for you. is it madness to pray that India Pakistan join together to bring a lasting peace inside Afghanistan and start a trend that leads to peace in our subcontinent?

India has no love affair with Afghans they are just helping there in order to in fuel somewhat justified hatred toward Pakistan and constantly become pain in our A$$ and not letting us sit peacefully for any moment.

India love for Afghan will vaporize the day it feel Afghan are no longer helping hand to destabilize Pakistan.

After Pukhtoons retake Afghanistan again, there will not be one Indian left in Afghanistan. There is massive hate, anger, and resentment among them for Indians. It will not die down.

Among Pukhtoons of Afghanistan there is a general feeling India is only there to keep them backwards and out of power.

I think that India has already realized this.

please let me take an alternative view. its just an opinion and I welcome all criticism and counter points which are without rehtoric or simple hostility towards India

so in my view Indians do have a role to play in the Afghanistan future.

a positive supportive role of course. India is a relevant regional power and has its stakes in Afghanistan. its relations with Northern Alliance and previous communist regimes and has invested a lot in the infrastructure. I am not talking about its Pakistan specific operations that have caused unrest in Pakistan.

for a positive contributory role that leads to a stable and peaceful Afghanistan, any Indian support must be welcomed and Pakistan shouldn't see it as a threat. a peaceful Afghanistan will also lead to peace and stability in Pakistani tribal areas and beyond and Pakistan wont have any problem allowing Indian Afghan trade transit.
for all this to happen India will have to ensure that its presence in Afghanistan is not for the purpose of fanning troubles inside Pakistan

Completely fence the border with Afghanistan, India's many ''culture'' centers in Afghanistan won't be able to do jack shit. Let the Afghans become Indian slaves, let us focus on Pakistan instead.

Do check once again. There are only five consulates in Afghanistan; the talk about 22 centres is becoming increasingly muted as it becomes increasingly clear that they simply don't exist.

Chaca g its our geographic location that forced them to depend on us.. And you are right we should need to stay away from there internal affairs and let the people of Afghanistan to chose their leadership, because we are losing trust of the Afghan peoples.. This is true taliabn have strong hold in Afghanistan but this is also true majority of Afghanistan people dont like them also... taliban should stop militancy and get together with current govt thats the only way they can earn some trust of the anti taliban locals
