Maybe because this is the only "achievement" they can brag about in front of Chinese? It doesn't matter the majority of Indian don't have Internet access, among those who do, majority of them can't use internet due to their lack of English ability, as almost not contents on the internet in their local languages. Facebook and Twitter don't mean jack to them.
