How Benazir Betrayed Khalistan movement

Not sure why people still believe in this myth from 90's. Pakistan didn't have any list sikh militants, its Indian propaganda. And this doesn't help khalistanis at all.

PTI can target the Hindu majority districts in Sindh citing persecution of Hindus. It can use the Nawabs of former Bahawalpur state for South Punjab.

What do you mean “use the nawabs”? It will need to appeal across the board to as many people from a common platform of good governance, jobs and fighting corruption. In Thar I remember there was an account of money for a school’s furniture being stolen. If PTI can follow up on these local cases, prove who did wrong and fix the problem, it can start to appeal to people on village at a time. With a proper media campaign it can show the change it is making and try to win over people that way.

Khalistan movement ended because the so-called Sikh separatists turned on their own people and started indulging in criminal activities like extortion and kidnappings. They were no longer seen by the common sikhs as fighting for a cause but rather common criminals.

Among the Sikhs I know in India, or Sikhs who recently migrated from India to the US, no one has expressed any desire for Khalistan. However, that desire for Khalistan is very strong among the expatriate Sikhs that migrated from India before the 1990s.

That is what Hindus want you think. Do you know many Muslims get killed by Kashmiri separatists? It will put Khalistanis to shame. But Kashmiri issue is alive while Khalistan died. Have you wondered why? Because Pakistan dropped the ball on Khalistan but not on Kashmir.

Actually as i see her betrayal went into pakistan's favor because the indians handled that situation really bad, they killed many, damage their holy sites.

Not entirely true. Hindus conducted operation blue star and black thunder during zias rule. Benazir was incompetent and marvelously corrupt, but its not exactly fair to blame her for everything.

Benazir was actually a nationalist and more conservative than she gets credit for. She initiated a lot of the privatization programs in the 90s that the sharifs took credit for. It was Zardari her entourage that were always her downfall.

Things could have turned out much different if she was actually allowed to rule for 7-8 years.

Is the Pakistani establishment so fragile that a single individual, Benazir Bhutto can effect such a major turn of events by coming to power? @Lt General
