Hong Kongers to get equal rights in property purchases in Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area

If its not centrally managed, they wouldnt be moving funds to help out the shortfall in other provinces.

Did you read the article? It's just a suggestion and many people were unhappy about it. Some places are keeping the system afloat through injecting money from taxpayers.

But the notion that i paid pensions in Gz but i couldn't use them is wrong, my father worked in Hangzhou and retired in another province, he still claims his pension

But he claims his pensions from his hometown right? It's based on Hukou, no? For a migrant worker from Sichuan working in Guangzhou, where does he claim his pension from?

Anyway that's not important. My original point is that a migrant worker working in GZ for 16 years still doesn't get the same privilege as a local, but a HKer who paid zero taxes does.

A HKer has more privileges than a mainlander in the mainland.

Now I understand why so many rich and powerful families from the mainland have relocated to HK.

There is something known as online transfers, you dont need to be in guangzhou to claim pensions right? I am not sure how the accounting works, but whatever contributed will give you lifelong pension adjusted to inflation. This is something SG gov cannot and will not provide.

As for HK privelledge, you gotta understNd they have no where else to go. As poor as a mainlander gets, they still have a mu of land at least with a house, if you cant afford to buy house in HK, you cant go anywhere but migrate or now a chance to buy a unit in guangdong. Damn if we help them damn if we dont, the main issue of the protest is housing, fermenting into freedom protest. Sometimes i wonder whether you are an Indian with some mandarin skills... Lol

You are absolutely right.
Sigh, typical methodology of China Gov...
In India, its sleeping on cardboxes...

Why do you keep comparing to SG? It's a different pension system each with its pros and cons. Singapore's pension system is rated the best in Asia.

Singapore has a DC system while China uses a DB system. Singapore's system is less generous but more sustainable.

Singapore's pension fund is still running on surplus despite being a mature economy with slow growth and it has an accumulated balance of $400b. That's 3x of Guangdong's, the province with the highest balance. And there are provinces in China which pension fund is already in negative balance.

Which was my point, a crying kid has milk to drink.

I just find it pathetic that the CPC is granting more rights to a HKer who burned PRC flags and Chinese shops, but not to a migrant worker who paid his tax and build the country with his sweat and blood. Why? Because the migrant worker is obedient and the HKer is defiant.

It's like a girl preferring bad boys over honest boys.

If you think that's fine then I have nothing to say too. After all it's your country and your fellow countrymen.

It's sustainable only to the SG government, i am comparing only because i stayed in both countries before and admire the Sg system. Sg can never and should never implement nationwide pensions because it will bankrupt Sg. China can alwayz print money due to her surplus economy to sustain the system. Thats the reason you see old uncles and aunties washing and collecting plates in hawker centers. Once your cpf is out, you are fcked.

As for HK, you are wrong, everybody even migrant workers have the right to buy properties in the cities with no restrictions like foshan etc if they can afford it, why do you think local governmemts are controllinh it? Because some rich villager had been snapping up multiple properties. hongkies are given the right to buy in these less congested cities.

.
CPC law says you can't own property for longer then 70 years.

Not a good thing when you want people to invest.

Chinese who cant smuggle their to western countries and buy housing there, have to buy in China, but they are putting their life savings on a bet that CPC will change its mind in 70 years.

Outsiders don't have to invest in China so China is not a very attractive place to buy property.
You mean land. You cannot own land in China. However you lease land for 70 years. Whatever property you build on this land is yours. This is to prevent rich landlord from buying all the land not unlike what happened in Hong Kong and a lot of places in the world. Landless peasants was what bought Mao to power and CCP should never forget that.

That doesn't make to much sense to me, but okay.

Either way, it will be really difficult to convince foreign investment in property if there are such laws.
Why risk loosing my money in China when I can go to other countries and invest there.

Chinese are buying land in Australia and the US like there's no tomorrow. Even NZ.

At least you get to keep the land you paid for. The CCP can't take your lands in Democratic Nations.

When Pakistan gets stability, expect the Chinese Land Rush. :D

It's actually staring, Chinese developers in Gwadar are marketing to Chinese buying.

There is no such law. You can own property in perpetuity. And property price is a separate thing from land lease price.

Property is not a good investment in China because there are tons of it, and there will be even more and better

Find me somebody who does, you have to be very confident in such a bold claim. People are certainly aware of expiring land lease terms, and spent years on lease are deduced from property value.
Outsiders don't have to invest in China so China is not a very attractive place to buy property.
You don't have to, and nobody really did. Amount of foreign investments in China has never been truly significant, with biggest "foreign" investors being HK and Taiwan, with South Korea on the third place.

In the world with near zero interest rates across the board, the investment climate is not good anywhere. That's simple math.

In the rest of the world the term "property" includes "land"
Only CPC law makes a distinction between "property" and "land"

You live in China so its understandable that you do not know about much of the world as most information is blocked.
But I literally burst out laughing when you challenged me to this. Its like challenging a kid to eat candy

No prblem:
https://globalnews.ca/news/5259196/...ncreased-by-5-due-to-money-laundering-report/

"Last year Global News obtained a study of more than 1,200 luxury real estate purchases in B.C.’s Lower Mainland in 2016 found that more than 10 per cent were tied to buyers with criminal records. And 95 per cent of those transactions were believed by police intelligence to be linked to Chinese crime networks."

In Canada it is no secret that Chinese people are smuggling their money to Canada as a way to keep it safe from CPC.

Oh wow, just looked it up. Seems like an common law thing.

Personally, I would never invest in any place with laws like that. Better to invest in the stock market where you can pass on your ownership to your family.
