Homeowner in US left with massive debts after police operation destroyed his house

This guy is lucky. At least the police didn't shoot his dog:
Horrifying Video Shows Cop Jump Family’s Fence, Kill Dog in Front of 10yo Girl

Rochester, NY — Utterly horrifying footage the Rochester police department fought to keep secret has just been released as part of a lawsuit showing officer Javier Algarin jump a family’s fence, enter their private property, and murder their dog.

As TFTP has consistently reported, in their relentless and often violent pursuit to control what citizens can and cannot put in their bodies, the police state leaves behind a trail of blood and suffering. Many times over, this trail often contains the blood of defenseless animals like the Dempsey family’s beloved black lab named Tesla.

Last October, nearly a dozen cops swarmed the home of Charles Dempsey to allegedly “disrupt the suspected sale of illegal drugs by people who had congregated there.” However, Dempsey sold no such drugs from his home and was entirely innocent. This did not matter to the officers though.

As the video shows, the officer hops the fence and moments later Tesla rounds the corner barking at the intruder in her yard. Without hesitation and without simply jumping back over the fence, officer Algarin pulled his gun and fired two rounds into Tesla, killing her, but not before she yelped in agony from the pain of the bullets lodged in her body.

Seconds later, heartbroken Charles is seen staggering into the garden, sobbing as he pleads with the armed intruder who just trespassed onto his private property and killed his dog.

“What the f**k is wrong with you? Why did you do this? What the f**k is wrong with you?” Charles yells at the cop through tears.

Algarin did not answer, instead he merely points his gun at Charles and shouts, “Get back! Get back! Get back! Go get your dog.”

For a brief moment, it appeared as if Algarin was about to kill Charles as well.

“Get out of my yard! Why did you do that to her? What is wrong with you? She would’ve been fine,” the distraught father screams at the cop.

As Charles cries out in sadness after watching a cop murder his dog, the callous cop then asks the other officers if they are “good,” as if he hadn’t just murdered a family’s dog.

Around the corner, Charles’ 10-year-old daughter watched the incident unfold as well, leaving her severely traumatized.

The family’s lawyer, Elliot Shields told the Democrat & Chronicle: “My client and his daughter are traumatized. They saw this happen.”

“There are other ways to handle a situation where a dog is running at an officer. Why is the first option to shoot the dog?” he said. Our frequent readers likely know the answer to this question.

For nearly a year, police fought to keep the video of this puppycide secret and refused to release it. But after a long battle, the family finally won and saw it released.

According to the Sun:

The video, as well as video from nine other officers who were present at the scene, was released earlier this year by judicial order after Dempsey and Shields filed an open-records lawsuit to get them.

Shields, who won a preliminary victory in another suit against the city for release of police video, said he believes Tesla’s case may mark the first occasion on which the city surrendered unredacted police footage in response to a Freedom of Information request.

Highlighting the utter uselessness of the cops swarming the Dempsey’s house and murdering his dog, according to the attorney, the people police were looking for were in the yard behind Dempsy’s yard.

Neither of the two men detained after police killed the family’s dog had any illicit substances on them, according to Shields. Below is this heartbreaking video, warning it is graphic.

At least this guy wasn't shot in the back by cops. He should be on his knees thanking the cops for not shooting him, instead of suing them:

Cops Walk Up Family’s Home Unannounced, Shoot Dad in the Back Through a Window

A man is in critical condition after several police officers sneaked up to his home and opened fire on him through a window, shooting him in the back.

Aurora, CO — Just as news about the tragic murder of Atatiana Jefferson by a Fort Worth police officer, who shot her through the window, surfaced, another similar incident unfolded in Aurora, Colo. An Aurora police officer — without saying anything — shot a 22-year-old man in the back through a window in his own home. The man never even saw the cop until after he’d been shot by him.

“It’s crazy,” said Denver criminal defense attorney Birk Baumgartner, who is representing Andy Huff, the man shot by police.”They shot him through a window in the back.”

According to Baumgartner, police never announced themselves at Huff’s home and never identified themselves as police before opening fire on Huff as he stood inside his own home. Adding insult to unprovoked attempted murder is the fact that after they dumped several rounds through a window and shot this man in the back, they arrested and charged him with assault and menacing.

“That’s a complete cover-up,” Baumgartner said, inferring that the charges were falsely brought so the officers can cover their crimes.

“They sneaked up on Huff in his home and shot him in the back without ever even saying they were there,” Baumgartner said. “They never identified themselves as police.”

According to police, they were called to the Huff residence that day to help solve a dispute between Huff and his former roommate, George Gutierrez, 26.

(when are people going to realize how dangerous this is?)

As the Sentinel reports:

Baumgartner said the dispute began after Gutierrez allegedly stole a car belonging to Huff’s brother. The three men got into a scuffle and police were called.

Baumgartner said Huff and his brother “cooperated with police 100 percent.” Police left the scene at about 1 p.m.
According to Huff’s attorney, Huff was worried that Gutierrez was going to return to his residence after police left, so he stayed up and watchful. Instead of Gutierrez returning, however, police came back around 11:30 p.m.

Witnesses reported that police officers without their cars approach Huff’s home and began sneaking around.

Huff was inside the home with his wife and their 3-year-old daughter when he heard something outside. Huff told Baumgartner that he thought the person snooping outside was Gutierrez trying to break in, so he retrieved his entirely legal shotgun from its case.

Huff’s wife also told police that Gutierrez had been making threats toward their family.

As FOX Denver reports:

he affidavit says several officers saw Huff standing in his living room in front of a large window. One officer even waved at Huff and “was certain Andrew Huff saw her and recognized her as a police officer.”

An officer knocked on the door, but nowhere in the affidavit does it mention officers verbally identifying themselves as police. A press release says Huff reappeared in front of the window with a shotgun.“The only thing we saw were people wearing all black with no lights with guns in our yard,” Huff’s wife, Leah Freeman said.

As Huff walked through his home, an officer spotted him through the window and opened fire, shooting Huff in the back. He dumped several rounds through the window, severely injuring Huff.

“Andy screamed, ‘I was shot,’” Freeman said. “When I ran out into the hallway, I saw him fall backwards. I turn him over and there it is, on the upper portion of his buttocks on his back and he’s bleeding profusely.”

Police admitted Huff never fired his weapon and now Baumgartner is calling for the officer who shot him to be arrested.

“Andy said that he saw five people outside with guns on them,” Freeman said. “But he didn’t say that they were police.”

“This is like the all-American kind of scene of a dad protecting his family,” Baumgartner said.

Sadly, however, because the people he was defending his home from were cops, the hero in this story is painted as the criminal.

According to the Sentinel, Baumgartner said Huff was critically injured in the shooting. His colon was severed and the officer’s bullet is still lodged in the lower portion of his body.

Huff will possibly suffer urinary and reproductive problems the rest of his life, Baumgartner said.

He had done nothing but attempt to defend his home from a would be assailant and he was shot through the window, just like Jefferson. Because he didn’t die, however, police are now charging him.

In your experience, has an insurance company ever won a settlement in court against a police department? Or was it always settled outside of the court process?
it happens all the time
