Homegrown Nishant Drone's Perfect Crash Record

More like forced out. !! :pop:

''And now, the Army has had enough. They want no more Nishant drones from the DRDO.''

Because the parachute system has failed them in the cat launched version....they have not criticized the reconnaissance equipment

Army has not made any comments on the wheeled version.....so sad you won't be able to gloat on this one.

for your info Indian army canceled order for Nishant versions. I.A blamed by DRDO for lack of training they called DRDO officials for the test where in front of DRDO official Nishant crashed.

The parachute doesn't seem to be serving it's purpose.
And the parachute is only version of the drone...the cat launched version.

NIshant is CAT LAUNCHED AND PARACHUTE RECOVERED version of the drone. This version was expected to be used in battlefield where little ground preparation can be done.

The same drone is available in NORMAL TAKEOFF AND LANDING versions and is called 'PANCHI" . IT DOES NOT NEED PARACHUTE ASSISTED LANDING AND CAN LAND LIKE A REGULAR PLANE.The Panchi will always have orders. It is smaller can be used for regular reconnaissance and is lighter than both the Roustom-1 and Roustom-2 both of which are heavier to operate with higher costs. This one can take off from any metalled surface.

Sorry you are not able to get the satisfaction of BSing.

Who was the genuis Launched by a catapult and recover by parachute ,I tell you Indians are geniuses.

Spoon feed time...... why did the pilot die.....because his ejection malfunction....why did he eject.....because his aircraft suffered a failure..... so had Nishant's motor or mechanicals not failed, it wouldn't fall to the ground and you wouldn't find out if it's parachute failed......get the drift. !!

Spoon feed time...no pilot died. This is an UNMANNED plane Einstein, at least get to know the product before trolling.

This is the Nishant - the cat launch version of of the UAV (PA doesn't even have anything on these lines). Watch at 5 secs how the launch takes place. The problem is in the phase starting in 1 min 14 secs. That deployment (and rather rough) landing is where the crashes have taken place and Army doesn't have confidence that it will survive in the future versions

This is the Panchi- wheeled version of the exact same UAV . For obvious reasons it doesn't have the same problems and the Army has not said it won't induct it.

that's a bloody stupid drone design. It doesn't even look sophisticated. It's size was huge for a such low capability

It's for light reconnaissance only. The others Roustom 1 & 2 are in the works. ANd a classified project known only as 'Aura'.

Rustom i & ii failed that is why India contacting US and Israel to get UCAV.

Lollz, who said that? Roustom 2's flight trials haven't even started yet. India will buy both predators and induct Roustoms---we're, you know, bigger and better.....

The pilot scenario was used as an example genius and swallow your pennyworth pride as Pakistan has this kind of capability for it's Banshee drone targets.
