A home-made missile-launching warship has joined Iranian army’s naval fleet in the Caspian Sea ‎Dec. 5.
The warship dubbed "Separ”(shield), was launched in Iran’s northern port of Anzali, during a ceremony attended by the country’s defense minister, Brigadier General Amir Hatam, the state-run IRINN TV reported.
Separ is an Iranian-made Kaman/Sina class missile boat that is equipped with 4 C802 SSM anti-ship missiles, 1 Fajr-27 76 mm dual-purpose gun and one 40 mm anti-aircraft gun.
By launching Separ, the number of Iran’s compat vessels in Caspian sea increased to six.

Last week, Iranian Army’s Navy Admiral Hossein Khanzadi said that adding Separ warship to flotilla of the Iranian Navy in the Caspian symbolizes authority of the Islamic Republic of Iran at sea.
In addition to Separ, a combat vessel overhauled by Iranian experts is scheduled to join the fleet as well.

the problem with this ship is that they are too lazy to use an automated antiaircraft gun with them or use a compact system in class of Tor M1 or Pantsyr in them so at least it has some chance against air threats .

Ok, at least give them the credit for 100% homemade system.

They could make a better system . the already shown they can make that gun radar controlled but when it come to implement what they had shown they are hesitant .
Its not like they need to made the upgrade for wood system we are talking abjout 30-40 system at must so money can't be the problem.
The problem is they make these ships but they don't take it serrious other wise they have upgraded the design a little in last 50 years is the system is now indigeniuosly made in Iran but they don't improve on the 50 years of La combatant design andtats infuriating

Well they are updated a little bit in the electronics and and the missile systems but for sure the lack of CWIS and air cover is a problem. Though I don't think these small vessels need any more than MANPADS in the air defence department.

Overall Iran has for now stuck to these old designs and that is indeed a problem. Meanwhile, everyone else is retiring these old designs and bringing in new vessels that are faster, have a smaller radar cross section, are better armed...

Even if they want to use manpads they must control he manpad from inside command room . put some of them in cluster of cannisters and connect them to a fire control system inside the ship . but manpads have a problem and its that you can't use them against incoming missiles and you still must rely on fajr-27 for that . also the range of manpad are limited and a helicopter can engage the ship from twice the range of the manpad.

That's why you have to have a navy operating as a unit with air defence, air force, and larger vessels with longer range missiles.
