Are you sure that they survived because of muslim state ruled by NAWABS?

Here is help
"Guru Gobind Singh on learning this kind and humanitarian approach profusely thanked the Nawab of Malerkotla and blessed him with his Hukamnama, Kirpan etc. In recognition of this act, the State of Malerkotla did not witness a single incident of violence during partition."

by the way muslim population is 1.57% to be exact, used to be high but they left this side in 1947. Still after 1947 it was Steady, common man.. I dont want to bring 10 % to 1% change in your part of punjab in here.

.
Clearly you know nothing about India then :disagree:

Hindus, Jains, Sikhs, Christians, Muslims etc.. play it

What nonsense? I am not aware of Holi being celebrated by Muslims. Can any Indian Muslim verify his claim?

Yes they do... my two childhood friends are muslims and we used to play holi with them when we were kids.... and so did we celebrate eid at their places.

It is not just limited to Holi, they celebrate and participate in all festivals as well, be it Durga Puja, Diwali, Christmas, Lohri or anything. Whats wrong in celebrating each others' festivals?

I've had half-a-dozen good wishes from Muslim friends in Calcutta (I'm there this weekend), and from Bangladesh. Everybody plays, unless they have religious scruples, in which case, they are left alone (except the food and drink).

It's optional; things can get a little rowdy at times, but you can opt out (if you're unmarked, and obviously haven't been playing) by telling people you don't want in. Considered unsporting, but respected. In the north, or in Bihar, it doesn't work, nothing works, therefore the cops, making sure people stay in line, and kids on scooters don't go around giving people a bad time.
