Hindutva and ISIS are same: Salman Khurshid's house set on fire

Saffron terror is a neologism used to describe acts of violence motivated by Hindutva. Hindu extremism is usually perpetrated by members, or alleged members, of Hindu nationalist organisations like Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) or Abhinav Bharat.[1][2][3] The term comes from the symbolic use of the saffron colour by many Hindu nationalist organisations

what the heck! What’s going on in Supa powa?

Hindus have only one terrorist group and that is Hindutva ideology but Muslims have hundreds and thousands of terrorist groups starting from global terrorists like Al Qaeda and ISIS to regional and homegrown terrorists like Lashkar e Taiba and Taliban.

There is an Indian member, @takeiteasy, who has many a time posted an article that describes the many heads of the Hindutvadi creature. If Takeiteasy still visits the forum I will ask him to again post or link that article.

And we cannot even count how many millions of active Hindutvadis are there in India and the diaspora. There was a conference in September in North America called Dismantling Global Hindutva - the name says it all - organized by sensible people including progressive Hindus. Even before the conference started, as is usual, the organizers and known participants got death threats from Hindutvadis.

You should stop your embarrassing love for these anti-humans / oppressors / irrationalists / criminals.

Aware Humanity says, "Hindutva and ISIS are the same!"..

Hindutva replies, "How dare you say that! We will rape and Lynch you now... Keeeel them, Jai Hind!!"

RSS is the organization.
If at all rss was even remotely close.

A sarkari musalman getting a treatment he deserves from his fellow hindutva brothers

Nothing to discuss here

Except that they don't say "Jai Hind", they say "Bharat Mata ki Jai" because they associate with India in a religio-nationalist way where Muslims, Christians, Communists, progressive Hindus and now protesting Sikh farmers are not Indians. These are all traitors who conspiring with foreign agencies to destroy Bharat.

Hindutva is actually the Hindi word for Hinduism. The '-ism' suffix of English is same as '-tva' suffix in Hindi. The distinction between Hinduism and Hindutva is a creation of scholars which has now acquired common usage. Technically the two words are identical.

The right wing started using the word Hindutva as part of their larger rejection of anything foreign. When it was pointed out that the word Hindu itself was foreign, the word 'Sanatan Dharma' started being used more often and now you will rarely find right wing Hindus using the word Hindutva, which is used mainly by their critics.

When even a moderate Hindu reads about Hindutva (and therefore Hinduism) being equated with other extremist ideologies, he gets riled up. He feels his entire religion is being lumped with extremism because he is not prepared to make the non existent distinction between 'ism' and 'tva'.

This is not to say that Hindu extremism does not exist, but perhaps there needs to be a better word for it. Or just Hindu extremism is ok. I am also not implying that those who burnt Salman Khurshid's house were moderates protesting on semantics. The moderates who are riled up end up being keyboard warriors, while the real lumpen elements do action on the ground. His house would have been burnt even if he chose a more acceptable term.
Extremists hijack religion for politics. They want the state to be a big temple or mosque where other beliefs do not exist. British and Americans tackled this well through what is known as Enlightenment.

Lumenlearning.com: Enlightenment, a philosophical movement that dominated in Europe during the 18th century, was centered around the idea that reason is the primary source of authority and legitimacy, and advocated such ideals as liberty, progress, tolerance, fraternity, constitutional government, and separation of church and state.

Convicted bomber Sadhvi Pragya Thakur calling others as terrorist. And see which channel has allowed to speak out this nonsense :
