Hindustan Construction wins Rs737 crore contract for Bangladesh nuclear power plant

Indian companies winning business in Bangladesh without Indian influence is as likely as me turning into George Clooney. Not happening.

iu

Really?
That several different billion $ projects given to China are out of pure merit but Indian companies getting the deal is "influence".

Sounds to me like confirmation bias on your part.

.
:rofl::rofl:

I had stated in my post on bangla budget it'll help India in the end and same thing is happening.. India refused to share nuclear technology or help finance equipment for Bangladesh army but is first priority for Bangla in terms of awarding contracts. And then kangladesh say it has independent policy

The level of butthurt is too damn high from some basically.

He has lot of love for Clooney tho (he has been going around posting this pic in a buncha places here), its pretty gross...but what can you expect from his type tho.

Rather than crying about bias - why don't you see the quality of the project done even by the Chinese state firms and the quality by the biggest Indian civil construction firms like HCC.

Be objective enough to see the actual quality outside of your blinding 'patriot' slant. But I may be too much of an optimist.

Not all construction companies in India offer stellar quality - other than maybe a company like L&T. It is what it is.

If we are paying for the project - we deserve the very best, wherever that comes from.

Indian companies have a justified mal-reputation of half-a$$, half-finished projects overseas. Please google it sometime.

In terms of quality first is Korean (our Jamuna Bridge with Sam Whan Corp.), second is China (our Padma Bridge with China Major Bridge Engg. Corp.), then comes better grade Indian firms in a distant, distant third place e.g. Simplex (no large projects after Major Hanif Flyover and justifiably so).

Korea may be too expensive by now.

With an unbiased situation sans Hasina - no Indian firm except say L&T would win a bid.

Everyone in Bangladesh knows about the quality of work of all these firms.

Once India gets into NSG,we will see fully Indian designed nuclear reactors in Bangladesh

No one can stop you from having daydreams....

Indian stood by you guys in 1971, why you both are not friends now? Why it always one or the other kicking?

What most Indians don't get is that this was not an act of altruism. Their govt. engineered the breakup of Pakistan starting in 1952.

Indians benefited from,

1. Looting of all war booty as well as industrial machinery in 1971 worth billions (even at that time).
2. Creation of a captive consumer market nearing $20 billion yearly in volume by now.
3. Removal of a 'two-front' threat and having a friendly near-vassal state. Which is better than having a vassal state because you get to create a market without headaches of providing funds for development.
4. Availability of transit to their NE corridor to improve those areas.
5. Damming of rivers to turn it into a desert - thereby killing it economically so it would be dependent on you.

Man its time we all keep pace with Bangali media. So its true most of our industrial machinery came from bangladesh eh!! . We are working with you to solve every dispute and over that you say India is your enemy and made you our vassal state and are dependent on us. Bangladesh is a free economy with an indipendent foreign policy.

India has never considered bangladesh its enemy except for when your previous govt sheltered terror outfits. The present govt is very friendly and we share a better understanding. Throw away the insecurity and lets put our heads together.

Yes, you are right, let's be objective.

You clearly must have some cold hard proof to unashamedly say Indian companies are not good enough.
Therefore show me the side by side comparison of the quality of both Indian and Chinese construction projects in bangladesh.
It must be quantifiable for you to be so sure.

Without anything to support your claims all your bluster is just rhetoric that clearly points towards India bias.

What about the Mayor Hanif flyover(i.e. one of the longest flyovers in Bangladesh)?
It seems to be working just fine.

No one can stop you from having daydreams....

Well, that's what they condescendingly used to say when India wasn't a part of dozen other groups, of which it now is.

1. Looting of all war booty as well as industrial machinery in 1971 worth billions (even at that time).

Is there some documented proof, numerical data, some hard statistics for anyone to make this claim?

3. Removal of a 'two-front' threat and having a friendly near-vassal state. Which is better than having a vassal state because you get to create a market without headaches of providing funds for development.
4. Availability of transit to their NE corridor to improve those areas.

Sure.

2. Creation of a captive consumer market nearing $20 billion yearly in volume by now.
5. Damming of rivers to turn it into a desert - thereby killing it economically so it would be dependent on you.

So we want to see an economically viable market in bangladesh because money; but we also want to destroy it because we are evil yindoos.......?:o:

Makes so much sense.

India had been using Russian nuclear technology for a while and we can learn few bits from them for far cheaper price.
But, has the Indians so far designed and built any of its nuclear power plant, specially the reactors with a continuous cooling system? If not, how it is possible for them to build one in BD?

I once thought as you do responding to this bill-tard.... but he is just too severely infected with India derangement syndrome. Its best to not be civil with him one bit or just ignore his dbl standard hypocrisy in first place and shove reality in his face. When you cannot expect rationality, extract the butthurt by triggering with the time you spend replying....might as well.

A full from scratch design for nuclear energy....has not been accomplished in India. Most of the indigenous (energy rather military/research) reactors are CANDU-based (reverse engineered and improved for local use from original CANDU design). Kundakulam is VVER based (and Russian assisted). There are other foreign tech projects (French AREVA etc) being implemented and proposed.

India's (fully indigenous) contribution will be to Thorium (esp breeder) cycle, hopefully soon. Much research is underway, it is essential part of our 3 stage nuclear program...but in meantime we will hedge with other technologies to see which have the best realised ROI/capex (and considering all pros and cons).
