We Pakistanis have accepted millions of Muslims from India from 1947 and onwards. Our MQM political party has invited more than enough Indian Muslims, even recently after Gujrat riots of 2002. That is one of the reasons why there is so much tensions in Karachi. Its not a good idea to invite large groups of people from an arch rival and expect them to be 100% loyal to the country they moved to. They will think about their families back in their ancestral land, and their family roots.

This is incorrect. Indian Muslims could freely move to Pakistan till 1964 - from 1965 onward, Pakistan stopped giving citizenship - you just couldn't move to Pakistan if you happened to be an Indian Muslim.

You have a point, we don't usually accept minorities from neighboring countries(I'm not sure though) but the question is why do you do it? As it seems this practice promotes large scale migration of minorities affecting the cultural fabric.

If I was a minority and if my family was facing constant discrimination - enough of it for me to migrate - the last thing on my mind would affecting the cultural fabric - I mean, if I am considering to move, isn't the fabric tattered anyway?

Pakistan can not hold an additional 170 million of your Indian Muslims and we are not going to freely let anyone claiming to be Muslim to move to Pakistan, especially from an arch rival. We already have too many traitors roaming around Karachi. As for the 1965 and onwards, the MQM keeps campaigning for Indian Muslims to come to Pakistan just like this Gadkari is campaigning for Bangladeshi Hindus to come to India. They did that in the 1990's and after 2002 Gujrat riots. I hope that no one in government takes the MQM seriously. Pakistan needs to worry about its own 185 million people not people from a country like India.

Err - surely neither 170 million people are going to migrate from India to PAkistan nor are 12-15% odd Hindus from Bangladesh going to migrate to India. Just like all Jews don't go to Israel even though they do have the choice.

We can't be selective - it goes against our system. A person of ANY minority faith - Hindu, Sikh, Christian, Ahmadiyyas, Parsis - if they feel discriminated against should be given the chance - not only Hindus.

Nothing wrong with what gadkari says . If the Hindus feel persecuted for any reason real or imagined they should be welcomed .

This thread is not about whether Hindus are persecuted in Bdesh or not , it is about whether anyone who wants asylum should be granted it or not . I say why not ? If they feel safe living in a Hindu majority country .
