The problem is the politics especially of Saffron brigade and that compelled all the Indians to try to save their acts when it is being criticized by out side and especially from across the border. Yes problems are genuine and i think we got late or could not come out from the baggage of partition to streamline our minorities especially the Muslim community.

That's a terribly one sided view of things.

Well according to 99% of Pakistanis here, in India minorities especially Muslims are abused day and night by the Hindutva forces (read Brahmins) and they are killed by the thousands.

thank you for your faith. some months back here in hyderabad, some people threw meat in a temple, a minor riot started because of it but thankfully police got it in control before it escalated.

Nothing but another publicity stunt for the movie.

Lets put it this way.. the Hindu-Muslim divide has always been there in the WORLD.

Today, the divide is only slightly significant and in future, with more development, it will be completely insignificant.

When different communities exist in the same place whose concepts of life are slightly contradictory, there is always some level of disharmony. However, India is doing the best job in the world at managing more than a billion people across so many different communities. Even in developed nations there is disharmony among the various religious communities. Perhaps this is why several nations are revising visa regulations for foreign immigrants, to minimize the entry of elements that harm the society.

The best way to solve this "divide" all across the world is that ALL religions should teach religious tolerance. Until then, dont blame nations for "not taking care" of the peaceful co existence of contradictory philosophies.

In India, more than 90% of the people look at each other as human beings rather than Hindus or Muslims or Christians or Sikhs or Jains or Jews or Catholics or Buddhists, and thats good enough for me.

You are wrong 99% of the pakistanis do not have a biased mentality ,only 20 to 30% have .even i use to have the same thoughts but ever since i visited India things completely looked differnt to me .

although hindu-muslim do not live in perfect harmony, I think minorities have got a stake in Indian democracy, which is a good beginning. Now that most people are focussing on better life than religion, one can expect the divide to reduce.

I sometimes follow Pakistan media via net, I have yet to come across a program that exonerates India of minority persecution. On the otherhand I have seen India being depicted as a brutal dictatorial regime who subjugates all classes except Brahmins. I was basing my assumption on this among others.
