Hindu-Muslim divide real in India: Indian director

Thread has become a troll-fest by ignorant people from both India and Pakistan. It would be stupid and naive to suggest that there is no Hindu-Muslim divide in India. There is a divide in India when it comes to religion, linguistics, ethnicities etc. The point of this movie by the director is specifically to address this issue and get rid of this mentality among fellow Indians. But the trolls that want to see India divided and make cheap calls like making separate nations of India.

The comments under that article are really horrific.

It looks like the Hindu-Muslim hatred from partition is still alive and kicking.

you are right. the comments are indeed HORRIFIC

Mine is second hand information, but my cousin has a few interesting things to say about Islam. ---> He is muslim, very highly achieved. His problem is the strict stifling constraints put on the mind and thought processes by Islam. Also, he says that the pride inculcated in muslims is extreme to the point of condescension to put it benignly. On the more aggressive end of the spectrum, apparently, the pride transforms into hatred for other religious denominations. ******** 'You Believers', Are you going to boot my post again? Do it, I will repost.

Dear Muslim Brothers, Asslamwalyicum, Please refrain from commenting aggressively on TOI on religious matters, Indian Intelligence agencies may monitor & trace your IP and you will be on their Radar. Please carry on your activity discreetly & not on such open forum. Please remember our beloved Prophet PBUH had guided us to practice Taqiyya when we are on Kaffir’s Land “Al-Tabari comments on sura XVI, verse 108 (Tafsir, Bulak 1323, xxiv, 122): "If any one is compelled and professes unbelief with his tongue, while his heart contradicts him, in order to escape his enemies, no blame falls on him, because God takes his servants as their hearts believe."

B:S movie has nothing to do or provoke difference among hindus and muslims. I lived with Hindus in my neighbourhood , work and friend circle, i admit they are awesome people and most tolerant people in the world. they do not see each others through religious glasses. And India is a live example of brotherhood no matter there are a bunch of fanatics but They do not make a big number . most of us are living in peace and brotherhood

That's not what the indian director said.

Hindu's don't like Muslims, plain and simple.

I wonder why India's Bollywood never writes a story on a Hindu girl in love with a Muslim boy. Why do they always create stories of a Muslim girl in love with a Hindu boy. Is it because Indian men (the vast majority being Hindus) will get angry and destroy their Bollywood?

I've seen the movie ,its not bad. I've seen people scraping the bottom to get over their identity crisis. A movie that tries to highlight a social evil in a blunt way is actually one of the better arguments by omar so far.

We get it Omar, I'm beginning to understand the pakistani psyche, that admiting an issue is admission of defeat, hence its best to live in denial and in a climate of cultural intimidation. Congratulations on finding the magic formula.

It's just 65 years vs almost 650 years. Give it some time.

Ultimately, in the marketplace of ideas, the best idea will win.

The programming instilled in early childhood is strong, but the free-minded can overcome it.

What we need is sustained free dialogue and debate, without people being murdered for apostasy or blasphemy.

For that market place must follow free market principles. Subsidization by state, as is prevalent now, undercuts that.

You can prop up bad ideas for a while, but it is unsustainable in the long term.

But I agree that all kinds of subsidization must stop.
