Hindi-Tamil tug of war at Ayush programme

It's not an Indian language in the slightest.

Urdu in pakistan is an adopted by language by all pakistanis. There are hardly any native speakers of urdu in pakistan. And those there are they dont enjoy any undue political advantage as understandably they are very few in numbers. WHile I do have some arguments against urdu in pakistan regarding its efficiency there is nothing unfair about it. It is completely different in india where 40% of speakers language is thrust on everyone and asked to get out if they dont speak.

You misunderstand me completely. I am replying to someone regarding the origins of Urdu. As per standard bhakt online protocol, Urdu must be declared an "Indian" language since it has significant (though not total) roots in Hindustani and originally Sanskrit. I am merely reminding our Indian friends where Sanskrit came from.

They love pasting that european word "indian" on anything that is remotely connected to geography as defined by the line drawn by british colonist McMahon or history of the land (against speculated by europeans) . zero is indian, budha is indian, chess is indian, martial arts are indian i mean it is tiresome evergrowing list.

TN businessmen benefited while even your MP's are humiliated by a low level CISF jawan at airport? how slavish one can get. Atleast slaves in olden era were captured here you pay money aka taxes to be slave. can you name one big name TN brand other than tvs which made it in to india. There are no ambanis or mittals from TN and there is very little chance there will be as corporates in india are politican extensions.

You just pay taxes and treated as madrasis. YOu have already seen how north indian @Shantanu_Left really think of you. Only a spineless gutless fellow desires to be with someone who despises them and pay taxes on top of it.

Germany is a ethnic state. Germans have a state where the parliament, president, army speak their language. what have you tamils got apart from humiliation and disgust from your "nation". Begging in front of official who takes salary on your taxes - "can you please talk in english..can you please talk in english - it will take some time before i teach myself hindi" then being asked by the official to get out. what a pathetic life.

I am a Madrasi boy 😂 The question is who are you?

Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) chief Kamal Haasan on Saturday, August 22 came down heavily on an AYUSH Ministry official for criticising Tamil doctors for not knowing Hindi. Haasan said 'this is Government of India not government of Hindi'. He further maintained that it is the duty of the Centre government to operate in a language everyone understands.
Taking to Twitter Hassan condemned the AYUSH official's behaviour and wrote that it was the humility of Tamil doctors that they didn't question AYUSH Ministry officials on how they will understand the medicine of Tamil Nadu without knowing Tamil. He added that it was the responsibility of the government to operate in a language everyone understands, and strongly reiterated that this is not a Hindi government but the Indian government.

AYUSH secretary insults Tamil delegates
His reaction came at the time when union AYUSH secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha during an online conference conducted by the Centre for doctors said 'he will not speak in English' and told people who don't understand Hindi to leave the conference. Kotecha's remark sparked controversy and has faced a backlash from many non-Hindi speaking population from South India.
Thirty-seven government hospital doctors from Tamil Nadu were a part of this conference which included 300 participants. The event was organised by the Ministry of AYUSH and Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga for Master Trainers of Yoga. According to reports most of the sessions were held in Hindi and the AYUSH secretary, during his speech in Hindi, said people who raised the language issue can leave, adding that he doesn't speak English well.

Condemning the remarks she said, "Vaidya Rajesh Kottecha, Secretary, Ministry of AYUSH, has said in a training class of the Ministry that those who do not know Hindi can leave. CHENNAI: Yet another language row is brewing as yoga and naturopathy practitioners working under the Tamil Nadu government have flagged concern over the ministry of Ayush organising a national-level training programme for yoga instructors only in Hindi.

As everything the instructors said went over the head for the participants from Tamil Nadu, they requested the instructors to explain things in English. According to some participants, their suggestion did not go down well with Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, secretary of the ministry of Ayush. The officer allegedly said that all those who don’t understand Hindi could leave the session, adding that he couldn’t speak English well. When the participants sought to reason out with him, he said he would identify the “problem creators” and take up the matter with the senior officials of the state government for initiating action against them.

The three-day virtual training of master trainers for Ayush health and wellness centres organised by Morarji Desai National Institute of the ministry thus ended up stoking a new linguistic controversy. The new education policy has already evoked strong criticism from TN political parties over its alleged favoritism towards Hindi language. Kotecha’s outburst happened on the final day of the training programme. Lack of proper communication was a problem right from the beginning of the programme on August 18, said the participants. Out of 400 participants from across the country, 37 were from Tamil Nadu. “We requested the trainers to speak in English as we don’t understand Hindi.

Participants from Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Kerala also demanded the same. But a large section of participants raised their voice, saying Hindi is the ‘Rashtra Bhasha’ and the instruction should be in Hindi only,” said one of the participants from TN.

So, much of the programme was Greek and Latin to the participants from the south, he said. Even those who know English chose to speak only in Hindi, said a representative of the Indian Naturopathy and Yoga Graduates’ Medical Association.

At the end of the first day, the association wrote to secretary Kotecha, requesting him to break the participants into two groups and conduct the programme for people from the south in English. But it evoked no response.

He was unsympathetic and rude to those who made the request, said another participant. He chose the final day’s session to send across a stern warning to those who were raising the linguistic issue. “If they don’t understand, we should make them understand,” Kotecha said in the meeting.

Since then, Dr Balu Mote, a consultant in the ministry, has been calling participants from TN to identify the “problem makers,” said association representatives. Mote told TOI that his effort was only to avoid such problems in future. He said though the training was predominantly in Hindi, course material was provided in English too. Some speakers spoke in both English and Hindi, he said.

tamil nadu and other indian southern states should form their own country, they pay for the northern cow belts from hard earned tax money then got discriminated against for speaking their own language

I concur but South Indians are a docile lot, who willingly submit to Hindi imperialists

Tamils are different as they have a strong dravidian cultural and historical roots. They are and were in the forefront fighting hindi imperialism e.g anti Hindi agitations.

If Dravidians get freedom from India, they have the ability to make super economic power of Asia
