An Indian police officer hailed as a 'hero' for saving a Muslim man from a furious lynch mob has received death threats in the wake of his actions.

A clip showing Gagandeep Singh, an officer in the northern state of Uttarakhand, saving a man accused of attempting to convert his Hindu girlfriend to Islam went viral this week after being shared on social media.

In the footage, Mr Singh can be seen shielding the man from a violent crowd who are attempting to beat him despite the officer's protection.

When a boy and a girl go somewhere together by choice, then how can these right-wing groups call it a case of "love jihad" and attack them?" Kaisar Rana, a resident of Ramnagar, told BBC Punjabi.

Fake News

No local channel ran it. First appeared on BBC then they also retracted

Mods please close the thread

. . .
Muslims of India should organise and start to take out the elements in the racist Hindu cadre. Once a few are killed the rest will run like the rats they are. Note they lunch one boy and there is a 1000 of them. One on one they never fight. Cowards

. . . . . .
Everything anti India is fake. Everything anti Pakistan is true....ironic
This news - though fake - is still isn't anti India.

A sikh officer saving a Muslim man from religious fanatics is kinda positive you know. It just means that each citizen of India has protection from the state. A mob rule - "wherever possible" - is avoided.

And for those religious fanatics - which BTW are still hypothetical given that the news is fake - don't really hurt much because some bastards are in every country anyway. And we never claim that India is perfect :)

May be those who are beating this poor chap are also fake people sent by ISI ..real face of India is one sikh officer saving the guy or a mob who is beating him

That depends on how you wanna look at it. Mind you - we're still talking about a fake news!

In this particular case - the real face of India is the police officer and not the mob, because the officer is represnting the government and the mob isnt (just like Killers of Mashal don't represnt the "real face of Pakistan").

Does that make sense ?
