Henry Kissinger a former foe who now roots for India

. .
i think so but this is just for knowledge and part of history....

i agree with Kissinger statement for Indira Gandhi...

Both of You got the punishment for the same, one Woman is enough for you to learn you lessons. well the level of kissinger, nixon, Bhuto, Charchil are same. they are some of the leaders who just forget the Royal and political disciplines and having the third class level. for the kissinger when now time is changed not need to blame him. Just accept anyone for the friendship for good. I think kissinger has good motive at this time.

"Sindhi Hum Balochi Hum Punjabi Hum Pathan Hum Aik Parcham Kae Neecha Pak Fauj Kae Jawan Hum Pakistan Pakistan Tujh Par Qurban Hum"! Nixon was right abt the dogs!

Time is a healing factor, time changes, everything changes.

Country like US got beaten up by tiny Vietnam, now its a sole superpower.

Heap of crap.

It's okay. I think some people forgot about Sikhs who still are wondering when they'll get justice for the '84 genocide

A lot of Dalit Christians in Orissa are wondering the same

Mr Kissinger has changed his views because of AIPAC , he happens to be a zionist & now they are hell bent on using India as a launch pad. BTW he is the same Kissinger who described Indra gandhi as a "b1@tch" and Indians as a "Bastard race" to Pr Nixon.

He seems to have fallen in love with "shining India" once in a while.

Shhhh.... Don't burst their bubble

If you were intelligent you would have realized that India does not have 'higher than himalayas' friendship with anyone. We are no one's allies. Apologies for being blunt here but unlike Pakistan, we are not foolish, to have 'ideological allies' or believe in ' brother countries'. We owe allegiance to no 'holy land' except our own country. We have assiduously avoided becoming dependent on any single bloc, so no sugar daddies like what Pakistan has.

Indian foreign policy is wholly and solely based on 'Permanent interests, not permanent friends'.

It does not matter jack$hit whether Kissinger or even Mao today came up to say they are allies with India. India would treat them the same provided India wants something that those nations can offer.

We require certain goods, commodities and exemptions for our transgressions from the global comity, whoever fulfills our needs is enough to be partners with, when the purpose is served, India does not think twice to change our priorities. We are no in one's camp. And we dont put all the eggs in one basket. And this has helped us in good stead.

You guys talk about Kissinger in India context. Just ask any Cambodian and you will know how he is hated there too..

@Contrarian

As a Pakistani, nothing makes more happy than India befriending a snake like Kissinger.

Good, that makes two of us. Hope Pakistan is always happy that Indians are friends with the Americans. We happy...you happy....great!

You missed the gist of my message then.

Befriending as a term means that india would expect these people or countries would go out of their way without any gain for themselves to help india.

We realize that this does not happen. Using the term snake for him implies you thino he would break that trust one would have on thise people or nations.

As I said india expects no favours. We realise anything that any nation does is out of some motive. If we are able to profit from that relationship we continue else we find other partners. We dont become dependent.

Those are "exact" words of Mr Kissinger.

So what! In the end Kissinger (Sancho Panza) and Tricky-Dick Nixon (Don Quixote) just watched their "good friend half-way across the world" just go down. Then that "enduring friendship" continued and all the world can see which way its going.

Now Kissinger is eating "humble crow" and advocating friendship with India. What goes around comes around!

But no matter; India knew how to handle Kissinger and Tricky Dick then and did it to a final conclusion. We all know what that was. Now India knows how to dispose off "old-crock" Kissinger.

We should never trust anyone blindly. We should always watch our back. The price of our liberty is eternal vigilance.

Very true. Kissinger opinion does not matter. He was wrong before. VERY WRONG. He completely read the situation wrong. Well , i guess I can;t blame the man, he lived in a different time under different circumstances. As for the present, make for the best of it. Embrace the future.

.
Sadly no one talks of his "WRONG DOING" in Indo-China (Cambodia / Vietnam / Laos )

.
USA has no friend and no foe because they make their own friends and creates their own enemy. It is the profit what they look for and nothing else.
